Ten km of really good skiing.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 8º. The sky is clear and the wind has slowed down. The forecast high for today is 23º.

The photos above are from yesterday. Ian is out again this morning and the skiing today will be better. The tracks is nice and the skate lane has firmed up.

10 km open, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine. This will be a great day for a ski!

The Chickadee and the Blue Jay still need more snow and some shoveling to get open.

The cold weather has frozen the ice on the brooks. Yesterday’s snow is sitting on top of the ice. The brooks are still gurgling underneath. The photos of the brook are also from yesterday.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 24º, and it will be dropping all day. The wind is blowing snow into the trails (yeah!) and wind blown snow makes for slow skiing. Trails will be soft today. It takes time for the snow to set up but the cold temperatures tonight will help firm things up.

Skating will be hard today, because of the soft snow. Classic is the way to go. Ian said he would be putting a track in on the Woodcock/Snow Goose, but expects wind to blow snow into the tracks in places. (Isn’t it nice to have snow to blow around?)

10 km open today, Turkey, Grouse, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine.

The snow makes everything more beautiful. The photos above are all from this morning. The light on the 3rd photo is moonlight. It may be hard to get out at 5:30 am, but I am never disappointed.

One half inch of snow overnight. A nice dusting.

Open, 23º at 6 am. A dusting of snow to make everything sparkle again. The forecast is looking exciting! 31º and snow today. Looks like we are in the forecast range of 4 to 8 inches.

We will not be grooming this morning. Ian will groom Thursday morning after the snow has dried out overnight.

Today we are skiing on 10 km, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine. The have thin cover, but with the half inch of new snow the skiing will be nice.

Harriett and Hilary in the photo above had a great ski yesterday.

Decent early season skiing today. Getting ready for a little snow tomorrow.

Open, -2º at 6:30am. Forecast high today, 20º. Forecast for Wednesday, 31º, 3 to 5 inches of snow. Yeah!!

Skiing yesterday was fine. Late in the afternoon we had 50 kids from the West River Sports BKL program and about 25 high school kids from Burr and Burton all out there flying around. I love watching kids ski! We do not have enough snow to build “the jump” yet, but it will happen soon.

We are still skiing on the Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine, 10 km. The skate lane is firm but a bit bumpy, and there is a track in places for classic skiing. If we get 4 inches of snow tomorrow the skiing will be 4 inches better.
