Ten km open, deep corduroy, no track.

Open, 25º at 6 am.

10 km open, Turkey, Grouse, Goshawk, Snow Goose, Woodcock, and Peregrine. Very thin cover, lots of bumps and dips, expect to feel rocks, roots and other elements of the earth through the snow.

Ian packed and packed yesterday. He is going to use a different groomer today in a few spots. It will make a smoother corduroy and put a track in in a few km. Probably the fields. We are expecting a snow squall sometime today with some wind and a temperature drop. The deep corduroy grabs more blowing snow and the temperature below zero tonight will set up a pretty nice base.

So…….skating would be a technique building experience. Skiing on classic skis would be the way to go, and a wider ski would be more stable on the wide corduroy.

It is beautiful out!!! The snow is sparkly, the ice and snow mounds on the brooks are peak mid winter. Any day outside is a great day!

Open on Thursday at 9 am.

Closed today, open tomorrow Thursday, December 4th at 9 am.

14º at 7 am today. We had 7.5 inches of snow in the storm.

We will have more information after a day of work. Most likely we will have some of the low trails. There is no chance of Chickadee or the Blue Jays. It will be thin cover with some bare/wet spots. Do not ski on your new skis.

If you don’t know, “low trails” are; Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, and Peregrine. I do not know yet if Ian will be able to get a track in.

By tomorrow morning I will have better details.

Not enough snow, YET!

Closed, waiting for more snow. 23º at 8:30 am on Saturday, November 29. Two inches of snow overnight, maybe 3 inches.

We have had snow in the last couple of weeks, but every time it snows, then there has been a warm up and melt. So each time it snows we are starting again.

But for today we have this much snow, the photos above are from this morning. And the forecast looks sort of promising. So maybe………soonish.

In the meantime if you wish to purchase a season pass, this link will get you there.

One inch of snow overnight. So… 1 inch of snow on the ground.

This is the start of the Grouse from today, Monday, the 17th of November. I take this shot often, but usually , with beautiful ski tracks and really nice corduroy. This is what one inch of snow on top of grass looks like. I know there are reports in Vermont of way more snow than this, but this is what we have.

In other news.

The birds are happy to have the bird feeder full of sun flower seeds. This season so far we have chickadees, juncos, goldfinches, and a few nuthatches.

West River Nordic held the Friday afternoon dry land fun here last Friday. Running trails and playing games. I love watching smiling, happy kids outdoors. Here is the start of practice while Ryan gets them into groups.

And we continue to pick up sticks and cut down trees off the trails. Dick had the pole was out last week, and I need to take it out on the Peregrine. Todays job, the dog will be happy.
