Open at 9 am. The temperature at 7 am is -2º F. The forecast high is 16º. Starting the day sunny and clouding up this afternoon.

Another quick 2 inches of snow Christmas Day as the cold front went through. And the skiing is going to be pretty darn good. A track has gone in in most places where a track should be and the skate lane looks like it is setting up nicely in the cold temperatures. All photos are from this morning. The track, the corduroy, and the groomer fussing with the groomer. Someone bring this guy a donut, I am taking him some coffee.

Get out the cold weather gear, put it on and get out and enjoy some fresh air. A few tips. Dry layers. Put on dry socks after your drive and before your ski. Wear the mittens, gloves are not as warm. A “neckie”, a hood, 2 layers on your legs. If in doubt ask when you get here.

10 km skiing open. All groomed flat yesterday.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 7 am is 23º. The forecast high is 30º.

We had four inches of fresh snow Wednesday morning.

10 km of pretty darn good skiing. Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine, all groomed flat yesterday. No grooming this morning, we gave the groomer the day off.

The forecast is for 30º, bring your Maxiglide just in case. If you don’t know about Maxiglide ask in the shop.

The photo above; kids, hills, jumps, skis, sleds, it is all good. This hill has been busy for as many years as I have been here, 1979. Kids of all ages, together having fun in the snow. One kid is 9 and one kid is four. An hour wasn’t enough. When the warming room was remodeled, the windows were intentional for viewing the kids on the hill. When we put in the equipment shed, that was placed back to leave the hill for jumping and sledding. When you bring your kids to ski, leave time in your day for them to play on the hill.

Four inches of new snow. 10 km open. A snow globe beautiful day for a ski.

Open at 9 am. We had 4 inches of new snow overnight. We now have 10 km open for skiing. All groomed flat, no track.

Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine are all open and ready to ski. Ian rolled and combed, we need a few inches more snow before we can get tracks set.

The skiing will be softer and slower than the past couple of days. The temperature at 7 am is 30º, that is the high and is expected to fall during the day to 20º. The wind is blowing. The the trees are still covered in snow and it is a snow globe world!

And, we will be open Christmas Day, 10 – 4.

7 km, fast this morning. Slowing down as the snow falls, with the possibility of more terrain with new snow.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6:30 am is 26º. The forecast high is 27º, and snow. I am seeing 2-7 inches of snow in the 24 to 36 hours.

Ski conditions yesterday and this morning BEFORE snow; most of the people who came out yesterday were strong skiers, and they were happy. Will told me ski conditions were similar to world cup conditions, skiable, hard, and fast. He and Ethan were happy skiers. Michael and Sheri put their skis on skied down the field and decided they would be way happier to wait for more snow. We had about 30 skiers yesterday and only 2 decided not to ski.

AFTER the snow starts to fall today. Conditions will change, the skiing will slow down after the 100 flakes or so. However, the base is now really solid, and falling will hurt. Slow surface, hard, solid base, after the new snow.

We are hosting a Chickadee shoveling party today. Check in for details if you have a desire to shovel. It is good, honest, satisfying work. The photo above is from last year’s shoveling party on the Chickadee.
