Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 27º. The forecast high is 37º

The Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse have been groomed with the Snow Cat and are a nice loose granular surface. Classic track and skate lane.

The Peregrine and Goshawk will both need the forecast warmer temperatures to be skiable. (The snow is too wet underneath for the machine to be able to groom them.)

The Chickadee is closed awaiting new snow.

And right this minute the sky is clear, the sunrise to beautiful, the moon is out. And watch where you walk, there could be ice anywhere.

Some photos from yesterday around 1 pm. It was a good day, until it wasn’t.

Open today. No grooming. Very fast until the temperature goes up and the snow softens.

Open at 9. The temperature at 6:30 am is 23º. No grooming and really hard an fast early.

The forecast is for warming up around 10 or 11 am, and some sun and clouds. The skiing before it warms up will be really, really fast. If you want a more pleasant experience today, ski after 11 am. The rain is supposed to hold off until late this afternoon, around 3 pm.

If the ski window works in your schedule, it will be a spring ski. Variable conditions.

About this weekend, Saturday is a wait and see what the weather does overnight. Sunday, we have a ski race at 10 am. If you want to ski on Sunday, plan to ski after 12 pm.

Wet granular snow surface. Springy, variable conditions in January.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 29º.

17 km open.

The 4.5 inches of snow yesterday morning has compressed and hardened overnight. Making it a wet granular. We should be ok and not need MaxiGlide (although it never hurts). The skiing will be variable. Faster and or slower in places.

There are people who like the quicker, faster skiing, you should ski early. There are people who like slower skiing, you should ski after the temperature warms up. And this is just my best guess.

The weather for Friday is 43º and rainy. Check back we will be closed if this is what really happens. Saturday is still an unknown.

Four and a half inches of new snow overnight. Grooming happening early this morning. Lovely, soft, quiet skiing.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 25º. Total snow overnight 4.5 inches. Photos above are from this morning.

The skiing will be good. Soft skate lane. Warm (25º) temperatures don’t set the snow up as fast. The track is looking good. Ian has the snow cat on Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Goshawk, and Peregrine. The Chickadee would be a powdery, backcountry ski until he can get around it with a machine later in the day. And if you have wax-less skis you will need MaxiGlide. Ask if you don’t know about it.

Today and tomorrow are look good.

Friday and Saturday will be day to day once the weather forecast/best guesses have been fine tuned.

But today, get out and ski! Fresh snow, snow globe, quiet, there are a number of reasons to be out today.
