Sunny ski this morning, snow expected this afternoon.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 7 am is 3º. Sun this morning, clouding up with snow showers this afternoon.

Packed powder base with a nice track and a good skate lane on the low trails, 10 km.

Chickadee is a lovely, powdery ski. If you haven’t skied Chickadee it is narrower, single track, through the woods. A great 7 km to ski when you have time and you aren’t in a hurry.

The photo below is from our friend George while he was skiing the Peregrine. He also skied the Chickadee and gave the Chickadee rave reviews.

And as long as we have Northern Lights every night I will share Northern Light photos from the night before. Here are last nights Northern Lights.

Good winter ski day. Seventeen km open. Lovely skiing. Cold, squeaky snow.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 7 am is 9º. The forecast high is 11º. At 7 am the wind is not blowing.

Gretchen took the photo above from her house Monday night, the 19th, about 7 pm. Aurora Borealis putting on a show. The man made light on the right is the door to the barn, and the man made light on the left is our red house. (Just for perspective.)

About the skiing. The skiing will be really good again today. The forecast looks like good skiing for a number of days.

Low trails, 10 km open for skating and classic, nice track in. Dick reported yesterday Ian switched the track in the Peregrine from the right to the left side. Let me know how it skis.

Chickadee, 7 km, a lovely, beautiful ski. While you are out there you feel as if you are the only skier in the woods.

And a note on the Loon and Middle and Upper Blue Jay. We wish they were open and skiable too. They all three have bigger humps and bumps and rocks and wet spots. They need snow. More than 2 to 4 inches at a time. And we need to not lose the snow that has fallen. We haven’t given up on them, they simply do not have enough snow.

Another great ski day. Low trails groomed last night. Chickadee a velvety smooth, quiet ski.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 18º. The forecast high is 22º. We had a dusting of snow in the last 24 hours.

The skiing is great. Low trails were groomed last night and he put in a great track and a nice firm skate lane, packed powder. The Chickadee described by Hilary as “superb, quiet and the snow is velvety smooth.”

A few photos from yesterday. Little fella to look for on the Peregrine. Ben, owner of Four Mountain Cycles in Londonderry talking to me about his ski, and skiing on the Chickadee.

Wow, what a day! The snow fall was amazing! Five to six inches. And now, the best skiing.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 25º. The forecast high is 28º, with a chance of more snow.

We had 6 inches of snow in the last 24 hours. The skiing is phenomenal. Good base underneath and new snow on top. Grooming happened overnight on the “low trails”, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Goshawk, Grouse, and Peregrine. A vote was taken at the end of the day and Chickadee was deemed dreamy as is. As in please don’t groom it, it is wonderful.

So there you have it. 17 km open total. All fabulous skiing. We are so darn lucky!!!!!!

More photos from yesterday;

Dick skied yesterday, Chickadee plus some low trails. And Jud skied about 4 hours and then taught a lesson, and has a race on Monday. These two, if you see them out on the trails, say hey, give them some Wild Wings love. I will be writing more on each of them next week, stay tuned. And Jud says, “Remember to put on dry gloves every couple of hours.”
