Great skiing on another winter day. Happy winter everyone!

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 7 am is 0º. The forecast high is 14º. Similar to yesterday. The sky is clear and the sun is out early. Clouding up this afternoon with some snow showers as a cold front comes through.

All trails are open. All have a track set. The lower trails have a really nice skate lane. The skiing is pretty much perfect.

This would be a good day to ski all the trails. (Warmer than tomorrow.) The sign up sheet is on the black board and has 3 names so far. Alex is first on the list. And thanks to Alex for the photo above.

Photos below are from yesterday. The Boston ABC TV people were here. Specifically Erika Tarantal and her crew for their new magazine program called Chronicle. I will let you know when the episode is airing.

It is an honor to have people come to talk to us about what we do. It is fun and helps us remember where we have come from and where we are going. I am grateful we had a really nice day to be out in winter weather, with people who want to share our passion. Ian , Gretchen, and Asa represented 2 generations, I was a third, and we had photos from Jean and Angus for the forth generation. We love being a family run business.

Here is a photo I found while going through old photos to share.

And a bobcat went through looking for dinner last night just below the parking lot.

All trails open. Great skiing. Low trails have a track and skate lane. Upper trails groomed with a little powder on top.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6:30 am is 0º. The forecast high is 14º. We only had a quick half inch of new snow late yesterday.

The photo above is from yesterday.

Sunny today, the most pleasant temperature will be 12/1 o’clock.

Low trails are skiing so well. Dick told me they may be skiing the best ever. The track is really nice. The skating is fabulous.

The upper trails are packed and tracked with an inch or two of snow on top.

This is an old photo. But every once in a while, it is so appropriate I did it out again.

And once in a while I repeat the Mary Oliver peon, “How I go Into The Woods.”

“Ordinarily, I go to the woods alone, with not a single

friend, for they are all smilers and talkers and therefore

unsuitable.

I don’t really want to be witnessed talking to the catbirds

or hugging the old black oak tree. I have my way of

praying, as you no doubt have yours.

Besides, when I am alone I can become invisible. I can sit

on the top of a dune as motionless as an uprise of weeds,

until the foxes run by unconcerned. I can hear the almost

unhearable sound of the roses singing.

If you have ever gone to the woods with me, I must love

you very much.”

Storm total twelve and a half inches. Low trails groomed again this morning. Upper trails, yesterday.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 1º. The forecast high is 13º.

12.5 inches of snow, storm total. 7.3 Monday morning and 5.2 this morning. All trails open and the skiing is phenomenal.

Ian is in the Snow Cat and grooming the low trails again this morning. Jon groomed the Chickadee/Loon and Upper Loop of the Blue Jay yesterday. The Middle Loop of Blue Jay was groomed Sunday night. All have been skied and Sage told me she is going to get freshies on the Upper trails this morning.

It is a good thing we love winter, it looks like winter is here for a while.

Seven inches of new snow. All trails open. Packed powder skiing.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 9º. The forecast high is 16º. And we all sing, “We’re having a heat wave. A tropical heat wave.”

Seven inches of snow storm total. It is still snowing, lightly. The photo above is from this morning. Next time around this field he will put a classic track in.

All trails are open. The snow is soft and light and fluffy. Skiing today will be good, but will be soft. It just takes time for snow to set up.

It is beautiful out. Sparkly, soft, quiet. The trees are holding snow, and it really feels quite a bit warmer.

Seven inches of snow doesn’t seem like a lot when compared to the 18 to 24 inches forecast. The photo below is the parking lot as it is being plowed. Seven inches is plenty.
