Great skiing today!

Open, -9º at 6:30am, clear sky and a beautiful sunrise. Forecast high 22º and partly sunny. Great skiing.

We have a high school race this afternoon. Ski early! Half day rates all day today. The race starts at 2pm. High school kids here anytime after 12pm.

You can ski anytime all day, if you ski in the morning, it will be less hectic. If you ski while the kids are here we can help you get out onto a trail and you will be about the only one out there.

A few notes about the weather forecast. We are not in the meaty part of the weekend Nor’easter. If we get 1 to 3 inches of snow, I think we will be lucky. Skiing this weekend will be really good! This is how good the skiing is for the next 5 days.

Monday and Tuesday will still be good, good skiing.

The forecast is for warming temperatures and maybe rain next Wednesday and Thursday. The forecasts for snow are often wrong. Unfortunately the forecasts for rain are often correct. If needed we will close on a rainy day to save the snow for colder temperatures.

And another great day for a ski! Wonderful, wonderful skiing.

Open, 6º, partly cloudy. Forecast for the day, 10º and sunshine.

25 km of really nice, good, wonderful skiing. All trails are open.

I know the temperature is colder today. Wear your layers. Start in dry clothes and bring a dry shirt to wear home. Hat, mittens (not gloves), neck gaiter, outer wind layer with a hood. Hand warmers if you have cold hands, dry socks if you know your feet get cold. And I mean, wear socks here, sit in the car and put on a different dry pair.

Get into the woods and you will warm yourself right up!

And I looked at next weeks forecast, I would rather have 10º than the forecast next week of some high 30ºs and a day in the 40ºs. We have enough snow to continue to have good skiing. But I would rather cold, than above freezing.

Photo below from yesterday of great skiing thanks to Tim. Photo at the top, also from yesterday, of great skiing thanks to Heather.

Miles of Smiles! And 1.5 inches of snow.

Open, 20º and 1.5 inches of snow overnight.

Cloudy and snow off and on during the morning, high temperature of 27º.

Ian groomed the low trails this morning Great skiing, really, really good. The temperature will be warmer than the last few days, or the next few days. Today is a good day for any trail. I think today I choose Chickadee to Upper Loop of the Blue Jay.

Lessons are available by appointment. A lesson is a great way to improve your technique and confidence. That being said, then you have to practice, practice, practice. Today is a good day to practice. New snow is soft and forgiving.

Kids lessons, I have someone wanting to teach kids 10 and under. Talk to me if you have someone you would like to get skiing in that age range. The granddaughter who wants to teach that age group has lots of patience and is very good at teaching.

All trails open, great skiing, 1/2 of snow last night.

Open, 3º at 6 am, clear sky, 1/2 inch of snow overnight. Forecast high 20º and maybe some snow showers late today. All trails open, 25 km. super good skiing.

Ian re-groomed the Middle and Upper Blue Jay late yesterday afternoon. All trails are skiing really nicely, and the 1/2 inch of sparkly, beautiful snow will make today ski extra nice today.

The race yesterday was a big success. Lots and lots of happy kids. I didn’t see a single tear. Thanks Anna for the photo.

The skiing is really good, we had many happy adult, non racing skiers also. Marcia and Fern skied the Snow Goose, thanks Fern, for the photo.
