Saturday evening update

ra-5a4bd91746f71523

We will be open Sunday 12/30, skiing on the lower trails. We hope to have 10km open by mid day (we will have at least 5km by 9:00). The snow will be pretty fast, novices will want to stick to the flattest loops or try shoeshoeing.

Only part of the shoveling crew…there were four others on Peregrine! A huge thanks to our amazing friends!

Coverage is still surprisingly good, we had a big crew out shoveling low areas this afternoon.

Wouldn’t It Be Nice If The Weather Would Do What We Wanted

Closed, 36º at 7am and sunny. The temperature is expected to drop all day. There was a half an inch of rain in this event. The brooks will be high today. We do not want anyone on the trails today. If the snow packs down when it is warm, it doesn’t break up as well after it freezes again.

We will be closed today to reassess the coverage and any wet spots. We still have snow but we will have to wait until Sunday morning to see if Ian and the magic grooming equipment can get this skiable after a cold night when it all freezes up.

And a couple more pictures from the citizens race the Thursday night.

Hanging around between laps.

The starting line.

Friday evening update

ra-5a4bd91746f71523

We got a bit of freezing rain this morning, and some regular rain this afternoon. Doesn’t look great for Saturday.

It’s supposed to get warmer overnight, and then gradually cool off throughout the day tomorrow, and the snow will get harder and faster throughout the day. It will be too warm to groom effectively until later in the day (or really early Sunday morning), so we will be closed for skiing and snowshoeing Saturday December 29th.

Closed Today

Closed, 26º at 7am and freezing rain. An inch of snow overnight. Rain today and warmer in the afternoon. Check back for an update about Saturday 12/29 – we’re hoping to get back open for tomorrow.

Bob and Bill after a great day for a ski 12/27/18.

Yesterday the weather and the skiing were spectacular!! Today, not so much. The roads are terrible, and the snow is a yucky slushy mush. It would be a good day for a backcountry tour on fat skis, but please stay off of our trails while the snow is soft and wet.

A citizens night sprint race was hosted here last night.

Night sprint race 12/27/18.

It was a team a sprint race around the field tagging your partner. Two laps each partner in each heat, working your way through the heats. And the winning team was…

The winning team.
