And the Covid Shed is done, fastest shed ever, and longest 8 days ever.

One more place for you to get out of the weather, safely. Still cold, but out of the wet snow and cold wind. We will also sell tickets out of the shed. And we will have Covid contact tracing forms, the paper forms. In case you didn’t fill out your form online here.

Vermont Covid Travel Rules: We have no say in who can come to Vermont and who can’t. Please see the guidelines from the State of Vermont to know what the rules are.

Now, the weather. The forecast is for snow. We are in the 10-18 inch range. This snow will be light and fluffy, and is not the best base building snow. But snow is snow and we will happily take every flake.

Ian will be packing on Thursday, with high hopes to be open on Friday. I will post here again tomorrow with the updates.

You now also have the option to buy you passes online before you even get here. Come up to the shop and we will then just hand you a map and a paper ticket.

See you soon!!!!!

Until The Snow Flies, We’ve been busy around here

We will open safely for skiing as soon as there is enough snow!

Until then…… This was Tuesday, December 8th. 13,000 pounds of rough sawn lumber. Pre-cut. Think jig-saw puzzle.

Wednesday,

Thursday,

Friday,

Saturday,

And Sunday, December 13th, late in the day,

And with HIGH hopes to be done today, Monday. I will show you the finished “Covid” shed tomorrow.

We will be putting benches in the shed, and you will have another place to get booted up and ready to ski. We will be selling passes out of the shed, and it will be another place to give your contact tracing info, which is require to ski.

The Skiing Wasn’t Perfect…….But They’re Still Smiling

Closed, 16º at 7am and partly cloudy. Partly sunny today.

Will skied yesterday.( Above)  It wasn’t tracked or packed, it wasn’t easy or good. But like the kids below, he wanted to be on skis. And despite all that it wasn’t, it was skiing. And a bad day of skiing is better than a good day doing pretty much anything else.

The Groomer…. Waiting For Enough Snow

ra-5a4bd91746f71523

Not Open Yet. The temperature is 23º, with 1 inch of snow on the ground. Just enough to make you want to ski, but to know it would not be good on your skis, or as much fun as you hoped. But it is a start. If this snow would stay around it would be a good start to building the base.

With that being said, this kid is 4 and a half, he tried on his boots and skis and he is ready to ski. Last year he wasn’t a skier, and this year he has decided he is a skier. The mind set will make it happen. I am guessing all 3 kids from this family will at least try skiing today. And it will be ok for this excited skier. (And if he lasts a couple minutes, has fun and ends with a smile, that is success.)
