My 7.5 year old granddaughter told her mom last week. She is softer when she is tired. And it is harder not to cry. So she cries more when she is too tired. Don’t we all.
So think about that a minute. After Gretchen’s wedding I was so tired all I could do was cry. I wasn’t sad, I wasn’t mad. I wasn’t any of the normal feelings we associate with tears. I was just too tired to be hard enough to stop the flow.
How soft are you? How have you hardened? Really when we are tired we are vulnerable. We go around all the time so tightened up. Take a deep breath and soften.

Tracy, I just love reading your words, thank you for sharing them. This post reminded me of a Rumi poem:
Be crumbled.
So wild flowers will come up where you are.
You have been stony for too many years.
Try something different.
Surrender.
