Closed, until it snows again. The temperature this morning is 42º. Rain and warm temperatures have closed us temporarily.

We will open again as soon as we get cold temperatures and more snow.

Friday afternoon ski practice was a huge success. Above, Ada and Serena help Shane ski some laps. There are 67 kids, from kindergarten to 8th grade signed up to ski in the West River Bill Koch League program this year. Yes, you are right, that is a lot of kids. Lots of games played yesterday, trails skied and smiles all around. A very successful practice.

Open, 15º clear skies, and a beautiful morning for a ski.

Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey, Grouse and Peregrine are open. About 10 km and the skiing will be the best earlier in the day. As the temperature gets to around 32º you will need Maxiglide. The new snow from yesterday will stick to no-wax skis.

The skiing has been getting better with each snow squall, but the weekend is going to set us back, again. We hope to end up with a really hard base. And then we will just need more snow, again. I am getting sick of this weather pattern and I don’t think I am alone. I want snow, but I want cold and I want it to stay cold. There I said it. COLD temperatures are my favorite.

Open. 2º at 6:30 a.m, clear skies. Forecast high 17º. Good skiing with 2 or 3 inches of new snow. Grooming the Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey, Grouse and Peregrine. Track in and no wind. Great combo.

This is a day you want to be skiing.  The skiing will be pretty nice. A couple loops around the Snow Goose or Peregrine. And you even get to wear your warm clothes.

Ski today and Friday. The weekend looks like a wash out, warm temperatures and rain. Yuck.

Ian is out on a groomer and Chuck is plowing the parking lots. Even if just for today, it is nice to have winter.

Open, 23º at 7:30 a.m., cloudy and snow falling, with a dusting of new snow. The skiing is good, a little thin under the hemlocks. Judd told us it was really good considering the amount of snow out there. New snow on top of the hard base. We still don’t have enough snow to get a track in. But, it is outside and it is skiing. The Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse and Peregrine are packed out and open today.

The weather……….today and Thursday will be good skiing. Friday will be ok, know that the skiing will be better in the morning. Then closing for predicted warm temperatures and rain for the weekend.

So,  ski today, Thursday and Friday! Ski longer than usual. We will close for the rainy too warm weather and open up again ASAP.
