Until The Snow Flies, We’ve been busy around here

We will open safely for skiing as soon as there is enough snow!

Until then…… This was Tuesday, December 8th. 13,000 pounds of rough sawn lumber. Pre-cut. Think jig-saw puzzle.

Wednesday,

Thursday,

Friday,

Saturday,

And Sunday, December 13th, late in the day,

And with HIGH hopes to be done today, Monday. I will show you the finished “Covid” shed tomorrow.

We will be putting benches in the shed, and you will have another place to get booted up and ready to ski. We will be selling passes out of the shed, and it will be another place to give your contact tracing info, which is require to ski.

The Skiing Wasn’t Perfect…….But They’re Still Smiling

Closed, 16º at 7am and partly cloudy. Partly sunny today.

Will skied yesterday.( Above)  It wasn’t tracked or packed, it wasn’t easy or good. But like the kids below, he wanted to be on skis. And despite all that it wasn’t, it was skiing. And a bad day of skiing is better than a good day doing pretty much anything else.

The Groomer…. Waiting For Enough Snow

Not Open Yet. The temperature is 23º, with 1 inch of snow on the ground. Just enough to make you want to ski, but to know it would not be good on your skis, or as much fun as you hoped. But it is a start. If this snow would stay around it would be a good start to building the base.

With that being said, this kid is 4 and a half, he tried on his boots and skis and he is ready to ski. Last year he wasn’t a skier, and this year he has decided he is a skier. The mind set will make it happen. I am guessing all 3 kids from this family will at least try skiing today. And it will be ok for this excited skier. (And if he lasts a couple minutes, has fun and ends with a smile, that is success.)

If you are looking for season pass info info it is here.  The season pass prices are going to go up 3% on Monday to included processing fees. Thanks for understanding.

If you are looking for Covid-19 protocol info it is here.

In Getting Ready Mode, This Storm Isn’t Going To Do It

More changes….. Ian has a Covid beard and a new staff jacket.  And both work well to rake wood chips around rocks in the field. Yesterday was chip moving day.

And to move the wood chips, a new to us tractor with more horse power, a bigger bucket and a warmer, more comfortable cab. It also has a spiffy fast connect plow. It is still a Kubota, we stick with orange tractors. Chuck and I started full time at Wild Wings in 1979, and this is only the 4th tractor.  Pretty good.

The weather forecast is a bust. The snow will come, I am hoping in the next 10 days or so. Until then we will keep doing what we do. Cleaning, clearing and tidying up ski trails and working to keep your experience here safe.
