Open this morning, (keep reading), 31º at 6:30 am. Expected high 40º. Sun this morning and occasional showers during the afternoon. 25 km classic and 6 km skate, good soft spring skiing. All trails open and the skiing is really, really nice.

We are having a high school ski race this afternoon. We will close for the general public at noon. This afternoon will only be racers and Wild Wings season pass holders. We are trying to follow Covid guidelines from the State of Vermont and the Principal’s Association. Thanks for helping.

This morning we are open for everyone, we will be selling half day tickets and rentals for the morning. Wait and buy your tickets here, we want to make sure you only pay the partial day rate.

Here is the snow measuring tree on the Upper Blue Jay. Many years ago Dick marked this tree at one foot intervals with a chain saw in the fall. The top mark is 4 feet. So we are figuring 3 feet of snow up on the Upper Blue Jay and on the upper trails.

Groomed last night after 6 more inches of snow.

Open, 28º and cloudy. Ian groomed last night after 6 inches of snow. All trails, but Loon, freshly groomed. 25 km classic and 6 km skate. Really good day to ski Chickadee/Loon, and Upper Blue Jay and Middle Blue Jay and ………….. Do bring the Maxi Glide for no wax skis.

And this sums up the skiing for today. It is quiet and soft in the woods.

Grooming at night is nice. It means firm tracks and the groomer, Ian, doesn’t have to get up at 3:30 am.

Again……..a great day to ski.

Open, 14º at 6:30 am and cloudy. Snow expected today with a high temperature of 32º. All trails open, 25 km classic and 6 km skate. The skiing is great, really good and wonderful. But with the new snow and temperatures around 32º you will need Maxi Glide, or Swix F4 on no wax skis.

There are lots of animal tracks right now, they are all hungry and out looking for some breakfast. Above we know the animal is a canidae, small coyote, or large fox. Below a rabbit straight down the middle and Ian’s skate tracks.

This group of cuties skied the Turkey yesterday. Then it was time for some sliding and cookies!

And these two are training for the Berkie, which is virtual this year. They are skiing their Official Berkie 43 km here, at Wild Wings, on February 26th, this Friday. They have the course mapped out, and will tweek it depending on the weather. Chickadee, Blue Jay, Upper and Middle, some laps on Snow Goose and back up for another Chickadee. If you see them skiing on Friday, cheer them on.

Another inch of snow, another great day of skiing!

Open, 13º at 7 am and sunny. The forecast is as fabulous as the skiing. High of 25º, and sunny, and the skiing is really, really good.

All trails are open, 25 km classic and 6 km skate.

With the high temperature in the upper 20’s, new snow last night and the sun shining in late February, you better bring your Maxi Glide, or Swix F4. This is a product for waxless skis, to keep the new snow from icing onto the waxless ski. It is used on the ski from tip to tail.

If you are waiting to ski, I am not sure what you are waiting for. The skiing really does not get better.

And there are lots of animal tracks out there right now, and a tiny bit of new snow helps see the tracks easily. Coyote, fox, squirrel, rabbit and moose are what I have heard or seen in the last few days.
