Winter wonderland. 10 km skiing, for now. 5 inches of new snow.

Open, 27º and snowing. 5 inches of snow overnight.

10km skiing, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Peregrine. Other trails opening as the grooming can get done. (No guarantees it will be today.)

The skiing is/will be good. The trails will be soft and dreamy. New snow takes some time and some grooming to firm up. Classic will be easier today than skating.

Driving is slow. Skiing is good. Scenery, beautiful. Silence, priceless.

With all the snow in the trees and falling from the sky. Being outside is really, really quiet.

It will be a great day for a beautiful ski.

What a difference a day makes. 10 km, good skiing.

Open, 22º, cloudy, snow still stuck in the trees. The skiing is good! And you still get to ski in a snow globe. And the skiing is good, did you get that part. The skiing is good. After the 1st couple of weeks in January I get to say, the skiing is pretty darn good.

10 km open, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse and Peregrine. Ian put a track in where the snow would take it, and he said it was most places. A few thin areas out there, but mostly good coverage.

Last nights grooming (and a bit of extra shoveling) session started at 5pm and ended at 10pm. Above, tracks going in. And below, is what it looked like here last night.

Open 10 km, no tracks.

Open, 10 Km, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Peregrine, and Grouse, thin on the top. No tracks, everything is groomed flat. Most of the skiing is pretty good, some spots are a little thin.

Shoveling started this morning at 5:30. AM.

Ian, Audrey and Jonathan have been out shoveling. They are so happy to have snow to shovel. So while you are skiing, thank a shoveler!

Open on the 21st. Limited skiing!

And we’re open, limited skiing. Seven inches of snow, storm total, 24º at 5:30am. Forecast high 28º and partly sunny. A lot of the snow is stuck up in the trees, hopefully we get a little wind to knock it out.

The skinny on the skiing: Turkey and Peregrine open to start the day. Shoveling crew on the Woodcock, opening it asap. So the skiing for tomorrow, both fields, Turkey, Peregrine, and as soon as we can, Woodcock. Then Snow Goose and Grouse.

Plan on no classic tracks. There are thin spots, some spots are really thin and bumpy. Is the skiing perfect? No way. Are we happy to have the skiing we have? You bet!
