Closed. Driving around cleaning up trees and branches.

31º at 7am.

10.5 inches of heavy, wet snow.

Ian is on the snow machine, driving around picking up sticks and using a chainsaw.  He has a helmet on, It’s a little scary out there.

The temperature is going to drop, the wind is going to blow, the snow will dry out. The skiing will be good tomorrow.

Needing More Snow

Closed, waiting for more snow.

32º and drizzling. The snow is soft wet and compressing. This kind of weather is a base building event.

Yesterday, on the other hand, the weather and the skiing were fabulous. We had lots of skiers. Novice to expert. Everyone had fun. The new trail, Peregrine, is skiing like a dream. Bill and Ian designed a winner! The snow on this trail so far has been soft and easy to ski, and it has been skied a lot. When the snow changes it will change how it skis. The flatter, easier trails, Turkey, Woodcock and Snow Goose were getting thin, it will just take a little new snow to get them going again. Stay tuned, the early skiing has been a bonus and we are hoping to get going again ASAP!

The weather today is delightful

Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse and Peregrine are open. If you have any questions please ask. We are trying to get away from giving every person or group a paper map. We have our trails and trail conditions on Trail HUB. This is a free app. It lets you use the app and get to the map it will show you the trails and then pinpoints your location on the map. You can even study it before you get here. Trail HUB like all other technology is easy to use after you have practiced.

A little about the new trail. It was designed by Bill Koch and Ian Black. 3.3 km of rolling terrain up behind the barn. It is designed to be skied. It has good ups and good downs. Try is out, “ski” it. You can putz it, that is what I do, but that means I, with my new hip, putz around a couple of hills.
