Good, Good, Skiing

Open 0º at 7am. Clear, sunny skies. Really fabulous skiing. All trails open. Low trails tracked last night. Upper trails done worked on all day yesterday. What a day to ski!! Get out the warm clothes and get on the trails.

Friday afternoons after school local children gather to ski. They divide into groups and hit the trails. Play some games the adults organize. But when they have time to do what they want, they go up and down this hill. And up and down, and up and down. The sun was long down, the temperature was dropping and they skied on. Moms were called from warm cars, and they persisted. Up and down. They had on their warm clothes and they had a great afternoon.

In fewer words, the skiing is good. Get your warm clothes and get out and ski.

  • Remember
  • Dry mittens, shirt and socks, before and after skiing. Even during your ski, if you stop.
  • Mittens are warmer than gloves.
  • Neck warmer or gaiter.
  • A hood is nice.
  • Layers, wind proof on the outside.
  • Hand and toe warmers if you know you have cold hands or feet.
  • Once you are moving you will warm up, so the layers allow you to take something off if needed.

Dick marked this tree, with a chain saw, 1 foot intervals, up to 4 feet. And that is how we, you, know how much snow is up on the top. Look for the tree.
