Closed. 35º at 7:45am. The temperature is dropping fast is was 44º at 4am as the thunder and lightning went through with the last heavy rain. The storm total, 2 days of rain is 2.03″.
The ground is still covered with snow. It is not pretty. But, since it is white we have something to work with. Ian and Chuck can work magic with the groomers so stay tuned. We will start working the snow Sunday morning after it dries out and freezes up. We will be open again as soon as we can. There are snowflakes in the forecast for Monday and then again on Friday and Saturday.
Photo, left, is a feel good photo. It is from Thursday, the 20th, when the sun was shining and the skiing was good.
On a different note, we have a new, old business in town. Seesaws, was Johnny Seesaws, is brand new and open again. They are and have tried really hard to be true to the original spirit of the place. The old building had to be removed, it was way past its prime, but the new owners worked very hard to salvage important features and reuse them, such as the fireplace hood and the beautiful mural. Artist/muralest, Kim Ray, restored and painted this mural, from the old lodge in the new restaurant. Here is a link to the history page. So, check them out, Rt 11 between Bromley Market and Peru Village. (Closer to Bromley Market). We have had dinner there a couple of times, it is great. The bar is a hopping scene during the “cocktail hour” and the rooms look wonderful. They also have an event barn, just in case you need to book an event.
