New Snow, Great Skiing! Best Skiing of the Year Thru the Weekend!

ra-5a4bd91746f71523

The kids had fun in the snow.

Open, 23º at 7am. Expected high 30º. 10.4 inches of snow in the last 24 hours.

  • 19 inches of snow in the last 48 hours.
  • Last weeks storm, 24 inches of snow.
  • 42 inches of snow in the last 8 days.
  • 50.5 inches of snow in March.
  • And a whopping 150 inches on the season.

I think we can call this an old fashioned winter. The skiing is wonderful, fabulous and quiet and peaceful. Ian has been grooming like crazy and the tracks are amazing.

The picture above is of kids in the Bill Koch ski program. They ski here on Wednesdays, and they enjoyed the new snow.

You will enjoy the new snow too. Today and Friday you will still need Maxiglide. The new snow has a high moisture content and skis have been icing up. Using Maxiglide is always ok and never hurts. If you need it and don’t use it, the skiing is miserable.

By this weekend the high temperature is expected to be 19º, Saturday and Sunday. And  at lows below 10º. This will dry the snow out and theoretically we shouldn’t need Maxiglide. You hear a but coming, the sun will be out and the March sun is high and warm. Keep the Maxiglide close.

Just a note on Chickadee status. Open thru the weekend. Chickadee wil not be open next Monday thru Thursday. If you have any questions please ask. And thanks!

Love yr writing style, concise, fun, informative.! I had to abort my trip there yesterday from Manchester bec. mt rd slurry ice & not enough pass by plowing….turned around by Bromley—-so near, yet far. My car is low slung compact.
    Disappointed. Slogged Hildene instead, alas.
Hope to get yr season pass next yr ….do you offer senior rates as well as pre season buys? Cheers, Dianna

    1. That’s what I’ve been trying to tell Tracy! It’s great the way it is and she’s worried about sentence structure. You tell her, Dianna!

  1. Interesting snowflake tracks. I was thinking the no-red-eye multi flash but those extra flashes happen before the shutter opens. Any ideas?
