Wow! Good Skiing!

Oh, what a day! 2/15/2019

Open, 22º at 7am. Partly cloudy, becoming sunny, with an expected high of 27º.  And the skiing is good. I already skied this morning, and it is really good!

All trails open, except Loon. 22 km classic and 6 km skate. Ian said the winners of the outstanding trail award for today are Waite’s Place Loop and Middle and Upper Blue Jay. All trails are great and if easier trails are your thing ski the Woodcock/Snow Goose and look for the otter tracks.

The otter went through yesterday morning. Most years we see the tracks only one day and it is obvious the otter is just moving down the water shed. But maybe it has hung around and given you new tracks for one more day. Look on Woodcock by the beaver pond, and down along the brook on the Snow Goose. When you are on the Snow Goose extension watch for them to head out into the big beaver pond. The otters are simply looking for food, a full time, hard winter job for our wild life friends. The photo below is the track of the otter going across the trail. There is a video of the trail, so you can see more, (no actual otter siting) of the track on our Instagram account, wildwingsski.

Otter tracks. Belly slide, bounding feet! 2/15/2019
