Open, 19º at 8am and sunny. Expected high today 26º, and sunny. The weather is great!
We survivied the rain. Some shoveling and trail checking started yesterday afternoon. Ian started first thing this morning, 4am. (Somebody bring him a breakfast sandwich!) He jumped in the snow cat. Chuck put a new ignition swithch in the snow cat yesterday. Worked great! Well this morning at 4am. Nothing. Thank goodness that was an easy fix. Ask one of them, something about a disconnected wire, and it went right back together. He drove around grinding up the snow until 7am, when Mindy arrived and she jumped on the snow machine pulling the Tidd Tech. Chuck then climbed in the snow cat and continued going round and round and Ian switched to the Ranger and the Ginzu. Holy smokes. The most ground up snow in town.
They are working on the Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey and Peregrine. The Grouse needs more work, shoveling up on top where it is flat, it will happen later. The skiing is way better than it should or could be and we are grateful to have snow left and skiing to offer. That being said, the skiing will be on the quick side. There are thin spots. There will be a few thin, shiny spots here and there that were just too hard to grind up. But 98% will be ok.
