Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6 am is 25º. The forecast high is 30º. We had 3 inches of snow overnight. Snow showers continuing through out the day.
Upper trails were groomed yesterday and today will be a firm base with 3 inches of powder on top. A lovely ski. Lower trails are being groomed this morning. Skiing is great!
We have another day in a winter wonderland. The snow is wetter than we are used to this winter. The temperature is warmer. Looking at the snow chart this is 21°F.-25°F.: needles. You may need maxi glide on no wax skis.
And we have a winner. Ben Ogden, from Landgrove, Vermont won a silver medal in the classic sprint yesterday at the Olympics in Italy. The photos above are Ben skiing here in December of 2019. First photo is Ben, second is Ben, Scott M. and Ben’s dad John.
We are honored to say we love this skier, who has worked so hard to earn a silver medal. Good luck, Ben, with the rest of your races.
And this happened yesterday too. Connor, news and sports reporter from WCAX came down after Ben won the silver to talk to a few folks from Ben’s life. Bill, Sverre, Jonathan and Andy all gave their perspective. If you want to see the story click here. And Connor stayed for the evening so he could be live from Wild Wings. Poor guy interviewed everyone around noon. And stayed and did live reporting at 4:30 and 6:00 pm. There are a few details that got confused, it is all good.
