Open, 27º and snowing. 31.9 inches storm total. It is a lot of snow, still snowing and blowing.

The skiing will be great! It is always wonderful to be out in new snow. It will be softer than we have had lately. And I do not know when we will get all the trails open again. For today and probably Thursday, the low trails, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Peregrine are groomed with the snow cat. Ian groomed the Chickadee and Loon last night and then it snowed 6 more inches. So they are open and a back country experience. The Blue Jays haven’t had a machine on them yet and I don’t know if or when Ian will get to them. Thanks for understanding.

We spent yesterday plowing and driving around on machines.

We are closed today. We will need some time to work this new snow.

Closed today. 31º at 1 pm and snowing. Storm total 24 inches.

The forecast for snow is another couple of inches. We plan/hope to be open tomorrow. Ian will start grooming and get as far as he is able. I would not plan on all trails being groomed tomorrow.

Looks like all the schools are closed, and power is out in 83 towns in Vermont affecting 11,230 customers. Peru still has power. But…

Right here in our little corner of the world we don’t have wind, yet.

A tractor trailer is jack-knifed across Rt 11 between Londonderry and Peru at 6:30 this morning.

And that is pretty much all the news I have this morning.

Ian on the snow machine.

Good skiing today.

Open, 28º at 7 am and cloudy. Forecast high 34º, and light snow starting this morning.

All trail open and the skiing is good. If it starts to snow, you will need some Maxi Glide.

From yesterday, Maisie and Max:

Spring is here. The parking lot is muddy, the road is muddy or pot holed, or rutted up. The skiing changes by the hour, or by the minute. Ian said yesterday morning, (Sunday) was the best skiing all year. By 11:00 the sun and temperature had warmed up the snow enough it was soft and slow. And then was fast in the shade, really slow in the sun – stop and go skiing. Yep, that is spring skiing.

Another part of spring are big, heavy snow storms. The storm due to arrive tonight, has forecast snow of 12 to 18 inches. Up to 26 inches in the sweet spots, which, as of this morning, sounds like it will be south of us by 50 miles. This storm is also accompanied by some wind. We will be making decisions on grooming and skiing tomorrow as the storm happens. I’ll let you know as soon as I know. Check here in the morning.

Spring skiing at its best.

Open, 19º at 7 am, and partly cloudy. Forecast high 40º and partly sunny.

All trails open. Good spring skiing. The low trails were groomed last night. Great track and nice firm skate lane. Upper trails open and good skiing, Chickadee was groomed early Saturday morning. Middle and Upper Bluejay and Loon are a little more rustic.

The snow will soften in the middle of the day and will be slower. BUT, it will harden and speed up again when the sun goes down, about 3; this happens every spring and seems to surprise many people. So be smart and honest with yourself, and check the time before you go on the longer loops with the big downhill at the end

This is a fourth generation groomer in the making, and we have a few more coming along;

And another round of ski 25 km, every trail, with a fire pit party at the end;
