Closed, waiting for more snow. The temperature this morning was 12º, the wind is blowing and making a huge mess. But the sky is blue, the sun is shining and it will be a great day to walk ski trails and pick up sticks and branches. I will leave the chainsaw work for Ian and a machine.

One more day to ski. This is the last day until we get more snow.
Open, 38º, cloudy and foggy. At this minute it is not raining. The temperature from the Weather Channel App on my phone tells me Peru is 45º. (We think that weather station is half way up Bromley.) Here on site the temperature is 38º. The temperature is expected to go up during the day.
23 km open. The skiing will be “fine” spring skiing. This is wet snow, with wetter spots. Some spots won’t have wet (or any) snow. Mostly the skiing will be wet frozen granular. There are spots that are wet and hard and will be fast. Two photos below. The first in the field and the second on a trail. No sugar coating.

And the road is muddy. Remember on the back dirt roads, drive slow, aim high, and don’t stop.

Ski it while you can. I really don’t want to say that.
Open, 27º at 7 am, clear sky and the sun is rising. Forecast high 51º, and mostly sunny.
23 km open. Turkey, Grouse and Lower Peregrine were groomed last night. They will ski perfect immediately. The other trails will soften with the sun, looks like about 10 am. The photos below are on the Grouse, one looking uphill and one looking downhill.

We are planning to be closed tomorrow with the rain. And this rain could do us in. We will need more snow to get going again. We are in “fools spring”. Stay tuned, March could bring some more snow.

Dust on crust. A half inch of snow overnight.
Open, 26º at 7 am, a half inch of snow overnight, mostly clear sky and the sun is rising. Forecast high 43º, and mostly sunny. The photo of a half inch of snow is from this morning.
23 km open, dust on the crust will slow the skiing down. Spring skiing is; hard and fast early and late. The snow softens as the temperature goes up and the sun hits the snow in the middle of the day.
The sweet spot (not too hard, not too soft) was hard to hit yesterday, it stayed colder than forecast. Today is forecast to be warmer, and the snow will soften up earlier. According to the weather app on my phone the temperature is forecast to be 36º at 10 am. If in doubt, wait until 11 am.
I study that weather app like crazy, and it also tells me today and tomorrow will be the days to ski. If it really is 54º and rainy on Wednesday, we will be closed.
And this wee one was shopping for skis yesterday.
