Season pass holder only ski day today. At 8 am it is 20º. The high today will be about 38º
The skiing will be hard and fast until the temperature goes above 32º. It is supposed to be cloudy all day, so there will be no softening of the snow by the sun. Turkey, Grouse groomed flat. Snow Goose, Woodcock, and Peregrine still have a classic track and a skate lane.
If you ski well some people find this snow fun. Other people find this type of snow too fast.
We open today for season pass holders only. Andy says “there is nothing wrong with this.” Just remember the base is solid after the rain on Sunday night, with a half inch of snow stuck to the base.
It will be fast in spots and it is pretty hard. The high temperature today is about 28º and the sun is shining. The sun is high enough it will soften the snow. So where the sun hits the snow it will be slower. But it will still be fast in the shade.
Good skiers will find today ok. Some skiers will find this snow too hard and fast.
Turkey, Grouse groomed flat. Woodcock, Snow Goose not groomed and in the photo above. Expect some sticks from the wind the other day.
Closed and rainy today at 31º. It is really quite lovely out there, sarcasm. Photo above is just something to dream about.
We haven’t thrown in the towel for the season yet. We will see what is left after the rain is over and the wind has blown through. Then we will decide if we can get open again. Skiing yesterday was really nice!
Open at 9 am. The temperature at 7:50 am is 21º, the forecast high is 33º by late afternoon.
We had 2.5 inches of snow in the last 24 hours, and 5 inches of snow storm total.
Low trails are open and being groomed again this morning. The skiing is good.
The snow might get a little sticky, you may need Maxi Glide on no-wax skis. Bring it along if you have it.
The upper trails are not open for skiing, they all have huge melt out places/spots.
We do not plan to be open on Monday, Rain is predicted tonight and Monday. And the high temperature on Monday is 55º. Then the temperature is going to drop back down to 24º and stay below freezing until the end of the week. We will check it all out at the end of the week and see what we can do.
And season pass holder Alex went to Switzerland and skied in the Engadin marathon. He started skating this winter and has trained and practiced and pulled off the 42 km ski, the 2nd largest ski event in the world. Good job Alex! Thanks for the photos!
Note: Nordic Pulse distances are accurate on the map but are often only segments of what you will ski so refer to the distances on our trail map to plan your ski. We are always happy to help at the shop.
