Snow Yesterday, Open Today

Open, 22º at 6:30 a.m. and clear skies. We had 2 inches of new yesterday fall onto a very hard base. Forecast high today 29º. More snow in the forecast for Wednesday. (A couple of inches, and this year we will take every flake we can get.)

Skiing and weather looks good Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Friday will be iffy and Saturday and Sunday look like we will be closed again.

The skiing will be ok. The new snow on top of the hard base. We still don’t have enough snow to get a track in. But, it is outside and it is skiing. The Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse and Peregrine will be packed out and open today.

We Need 3+ Inches Of Snow, And The Temperatures To Stay Cold

Closed, 25º. Rain all day yesterday, ending with about a quarter inch of snow. We need more snow to be able to groom anything, the warm and rain Friday and Saturday melted quite a bit. The forecast is for an inch Monday and maybe an inch on Tuesday. We’re hoping it will be enough to do something with.

Stay tuned; we will get open again as quickly as possible. Keep snow dancing!!

Closed, Waiting, For Snow (In Your Eeyore Voice)

Closed. 34º and raining. The forecast is for the rain to mix over and turn back to snow. And we need snow!

The picture above is from Thursday. We had a couple days of good skiing in a winter wonderland. And photo credits are to Nicki Burton. Thanks for being in the right spot at the right time and getting the picture.

Today, not much of a winter wonderland. Rain overnight has turned today into one of the really disgusting days. Yuk!

We will open as soon as this mess changes back to snow, and the snow adds up to something we can ski on again. Three or four inches will make all the difference.

Another Ski Day

ra-5a4bd91746f71523

Open, 33º at 6:30 a.m. Forecast high 40º and cloudy. 10 km open, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey, Grouse and Peregrine. The skiing will be faster than the last few days, with variable conditions. It is the nature of the snow today.

FYI, we have a high school race this afternoon. You can ski, it will just be more crowded at the base area than you might be used to. Once you get out on the Woodcock/Snow Goose you won’t see many people at all.

There is a mix of weather coming in for the weekend. We are hoping we come out on the plus side for white stuff. Sleet and snow are what we are wishing for.

There is another chance for snow on Tuesday. I would take that bet, that measurable snow will happen. Just knowing some kids have just had 2 weeks off and a snow day on Tuesday or Wednesday might push a few mothers over the top.
