Open and Skiing, 10 km To Start The Day

ra-5a4bd91746f71523

Open today. 32º to start the morning and partly cloudy.

The snow is frozen granular and grooming out nicely. We will start out with Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey, Peregrine and Grouse groomed, 10 km. We still have good coverage. But definitely spring skiing. Faster in the morning and late afternoon. Slower in the middle of the day. And all temperature dependent.

The high temperature today is forecast to be 37º. The sun is shining right now. And there is a 30-40% chance of a snow flurry, and in the open the wind is blowing.

So, spring skiing. Experienced skiers will love the quick skiing. If you are looking for slower skiing, plan on the middle of the day, 11:30 to 2:30. If you have any questions, ask. If we can open more terrain we will, just ask. Ian is thinking the longer harder trails will be skiable in the middle of the day. And he has been being right.

Below is a video clip taken of the Caldwell Classic 50km. Great fun!

    Hi, Tracy,

I have been trying all winter to get to VT to ski, but the schedules here and the snow up there haven’t meshed. I am still watching and hoping to be up there before the end of March, but the ski weather doesn’t look conducive to my hitting the trails and seeing you all. My shoulder is absolutely fine (NO physical therapy needed…I attribute that in part to all the skiing I have done!)

I am not done w/ skiing…I am hoping next year my schedule will be more open and I can get up many times. This site w/all your updates is invaluable! So glad you do this!

Meanwhile I am waiting for Penny’s “A Better Man ” to come out in paperback!

Sounds like all is well with your and yours! Take care!

    Willie

    1. See you next year. And “A Better Man” is at the library!
