Waiting for snow! The forecast looks promising.

Closed, waiting on the snow forecast for Thursday night and Friday.

The temperature at 7:30am on Thursday is 8º. High today, 26º and sunny.

The forecast is looking really good for 8 to 12 inches of snow. The snow is suppose to start tonight after midnight, and snow through the day tomorrow. Without the snow we would have no skiing. All the photos in this post are from yesterday, Wednesday, the 23rd.

What a difference a day makes, yuck.

Closed until it snows. And the forecast is for snow on Friday. If we get snow on Friday we plan to be open on Saturday.

The temperature at 7:30am is 46º. It is cloudy out, and just a little blah.

Catie and Zoe are still holding their Kid’s camp today and tomorrow. 10am to 12pm. S’mores at the end of the day today. Hot chocolate tomorrow. Let’s talk about Friday and the roads, it could be a snow day.

The photo above is from this morning. And Chuck said this photo doesn’t represent the worst of the area.

Thanks to everyone for their support over the last 4 days. The skiing was good and the skiers were great!

Spring spring skiing loose frozen granular. Variable conditions.

Closed as of the end of the day on Tuesday until we get more snow. We had a great last 4 days. Many happy skiers. Thanks for all the support.

Open, 25º at 6:30am and clear sky. The forecast high is 51º and rain later in the day.

12 km to begin the day. The lower trails, loose, frozen granular. When the temperature and sun warm the snow up, it will be corn snow, and spring skiing. Variable conditions, expect the snow to change. The forecast high is 51º and rain later in the day.

The snow is getting thin in some spots. Ian was out in the Ranger this morning and loosened up the top layer. He is going around the Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, and Peregrine. The Chickadee and Upper and Middle Blue Jay will be ok after the snow softens up. Trail changes may happen during day.

If you are an advanced skier, please be respectful of the folks that don’t ski with as much confidence. Please remember to be polite on the trails. Thanks.

And the rain is coming in late in the day, and we do not plan on being open for skiing again until it snow.

AND if you signed up a child for Zoe and Catie’s kids camp. They are holding it snow or no. They have alternative plans, games, snow shoes, forts, and fun.

25 km of spring skiing.

Open! All trails. 28º at 7am and partly cloudy. Forecast high 43º.

25 km open. 12 km for skate and 25 km for classic. To get tracks like we had yesterday, above, Ian was in the snow cat at 0:dark30, yesterday and again today. Whew, someone should bring him a donut!

In the snow cat around and around. To get the tracks above there are many steps.

Grinding, plowing, tilling, laying out the corduroy and then a track.

The skiing is really good. It will get to 43º today, so it will be spring skiing. All this work and to keep the skiing good for many, is then why we ask, if you have to walk on the trail, instead of ski, please stay way to the side. If you are snow shoeing, don’t snow shoe in the ski track. The trails are one-way, please ski or snow shoe in the proper direction.

It was a little crazy here yesterday! This was the line for rentals. Today shouldn’t be as busy.

These 3! They have set themselves a little challenge. 10km skate Saturday. 10km classic Sunday. And a skiathalon on today, 6km skate, 6km classic. These 2 are now 9 years old.

A bit on our policies for the Ski Vermont Nordic Reciprocal Program:

This weekend is one of the dates Wild Wings has black out dates for the reciprocal ski program. 2/19-2/21, so not today.

And when you want to use your pass you need to have your pass with you.
