25 km of spring skiing.

Open! All trails. 28º at 7am and partly cloudy. Forecast high 43º.

25 km open. 12 km for skate and 25 km for classic. To get tracks like we had yesterday, above, Ian was in the snow cat at 0:dark30, yesterday and again today. Whew, someone should bring him a donut!

In the snow cat around and around. To get the tracks above there are many steps.

Grinding, plowing, tilling, laying out the corduroy and then a track.

The skiing is really good. It will get to 43º today, so it will be spring skiing. All this work and to keep the skiing good for many, is then why we ask, if you have to walk on the trail, instead of ski, please stay way to the side. If you are snow shoeing, don’t snow shoe in the ski track. The trails are one-way, please ski or snow shoe in the proper direction.

It was a little crazy here yesterday! This was the line for rentals. Today shouldn’t be as busy.

These 3! They have set themselves a little challenge. 10km skate Saturday. 10km classic Sunday. And a skiathalon on today, 6km skate, 6km classic. These 2 are now 9 years old.

A bit on our policies for the Ski Vermont Nordic Reciprocal Program:

This weekend is one of the dates Wild Wings has black out dates for the reciprocal ski program. 2/19-2/21, so not today.

And when you want to use your pass you need to have your pass with you.

So it wasn’t just 2 measly inches of snow that made the skiing so perfect yesterday but it sure helped! Thanks for all your hard work in making the trails so awesome. It’s kind of miraculous what you did with 2 inches of snow. Some of the best conditions of the season!
