Open, 2º, and blue sky. Forecast high 24º and sunny.

Ian and Jonathan groomed last night. All 25 km groomed and open. This is the day we all wait for. The best skiing of the year.

Packed powder freshly groomed looks like this. This is the skiing today.

So, go in late, call in sick, whatever it takes. Just get out here and ski!

Saturday 34º and cloudy. Skiing will still be good. Sunday, 57º and rainy, don’t even know if we will be open.

2.8 inches of fresh lovely powder. You get a powder day!

Open, 23º, cloudy, 2.8 inches of new snow. Forecast high 24º and becoming sunny later.

All trails are open. Packed powder base with 2.8 inches of powdery snow on top. Everything was groomed yesterday and put a track in. Ian said we hadn’t had a powder day yet this year. So here we are! A powder day.

And I mean powder snow, not just new snow. I cringe when someone calls heavy, wet, cement type snow powder. That is not powder. Powder snow is light and fluffy. It falls when the temperatures are below, say 25º. It is easy to ski, like skiing on a cloud. So, yeah, POW. Powder snow and Protect Our Winters.

For planning purposes, Ian said he is grooming again late this afternoon. Today 24º, good skiing. Friday, 24º, good skiing. Saturday, 35º, good skiing. Sunday 58º, and rain, we will quite possibly be closed on Sunday.

All trails open, groomed this morning after 2 inches of snow last night.

Open, 22º, clear skies and 2 inches of new snow from last night. Forecast high 30, some sun and some clouds.

All trails groomed this morning and open. The photo above is this morning at 6:30am. Ian is in the Ranger pulling the Ginzu and the new snow.Jonathan is on the snow machine also pulling a Ginzu. Really nice, pretty corduroy and great tracks.

We do not have much extra snow. Ian and Dick have been shoveling the low spots and with this new snow, and a little more forecast for tonight, great skiing through Saturday. Sunday is the next day with rain in the forecast.

Today is a beauty.

All trails open, 35º and snow possible.

Open 9ª at 6:30am and cloudy. Forecast today cloudy, around 33º and snow showers possible this afternoon.

All trails are open. The skiing is good. The photo above is from last weekend. I just really like the photo. Ian is not in a groomer today. And a heads up, there are some thin spots on Chickadee.

The skiing looks good through Saturday. But a few warm days or more rain could do us in, again.

On the other hand, it is March 1st. We just don’t have a big enough snow pack to get a long spring ski season in. Unless we all of a sudden get a whole bunch of snow. So, what I am trying to say after studying the weather, ski soon.

This photo is on the Upper Blue Jay on Monday, February 28th.
