2.8 inches of fresh lovely powder. You get a powder day!

Open, 23º, cloudy, 2.8 inches of new snow. Forecast high 24º and becoming sunny later.

All trails are open. Packed powder base with 2.8 inches of powdery snow on top. Everything was groomed yesterday and put a track in. Ian said we hadn’t had a powder day yet this year. So here we are! A powder day.

And I mean powder snow, not just new snow. I cringe when someone calls heavy, wet, cement type snow powder. That is not powder. Powder snow is light and fluffy. It falls when the temperatures are below, say 25º. It is easy to ski, like skiing on a cloud. So, yeah, POW. Powder snow and Protect Our Winters.

For planning purposes, Ian said he is grooming again late this afternoon. Today 24º, good skiing. Friday, 24º, good skiing. Saturday, 35º, good skiing. Sunday 58º, and rain, we will quite possibly be closed on Sunday.
