Open, and the skiing is looking good.

this morning, on Grouse

Open, 17ºs at 6:30am, partly sunny. Forecast high 30º. We have 17km open. It’s a “sugary,” loose granular surface…very nice to ski on, a little faster in the shade, a little slower in the sun. Another great day for a ski.

Ian is in the snow cat, or Pisten Bully, on the Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine. The photo above is from today on the Grouse. It is looking good!

Jonathan is on the snow mobile on the Chickadee. Ian started at 4am and Jonathan started about 5:15am. It has already been a long day here!

Groomers at work!

Closed for the day. The plan is to see you tomorrow.

Photo from last February, 2022! This wonderful machine will be the machine of choice Friday morning.

Closed today. 31º at 7am. 2.7 inches of new snow. Then we had sleet, ice, and rain. The 2.7 inches are heavy and wet.

The weather today, steady temperature, then dropping, forecast for some snow during the day and some wind.

Letting the snow dry out before we groom it will give us good skiing Friday into the weekend. Photo above of the Pisten Bully, the grooming machine of choice for Friday morning.

A fantastic day of skiing!

Open, 22º at 6:30am. Mostly cloudy.

The forecast is for snow today. Mixing tonight and tomorrow. If it changes to rain and or ice we will be closed on Thursday. Reopening on Friday for a great weekend of skiing!

The skiing today: pretty darn good. All trails are open except Loon. The Chickadee and Upper Blue Jay were great yesterday according to Mary. And Andy said the Middle Blue Jay was really fun. (It is still a little bumpy, so yeah, fun.) Last night, Ian put a new track on the Turkey, Woodcock and Snow Goose (even under the hemlocks!), and we are set up for a great ski day.

The measuring stick out on the Snow Goose is at 16 inches. And it is just wonderful to have some snow. We love lots of snow, better skiing, easier grooming.

20 km open. Yes, Chickadee!!!!

Open, 26º at 6:30am. 8.5 inches of snow for a storm total.

20km open today. Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Peregrine and Chickadee. A work in progress, Middle and Upper Blue Jay.

All the grooming was done last night, which makes for a great packed powder surface. New snow, packed and tracked left to set up; great skiing.

The photo above is of grooming in progress on the Chickadee. I watch this and think I could drive the snow machine.

It has been a little windy out there. Some snow has come out of the trees. So on top of Ian and Jonathan’s great grooming you will find a little wind blown snow. (While this should be a little bit irritating, we need all the snow we can get in the trails, and we will take anyway it falls.)
