Open at 9 am. The temperature at 7 am is 23º. The forecast high today is 26º. A few, very few snowflakes have fallen.

Ten km open today. Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine. The photos above are from this morning. Ian is in the snow cat and it is doing the thing it does best. Grinding up really hard snow into a nice skiable surface. Loose frozen granular. A pretty good day for some pretty good skiing.

Long range weather shows a warming trend. Once the temperature starts going above freezing everyday the skiing will be best from around 11 to about 3.

And, we are on a muddy road, we sometimes have to close simply because the road gets too muddy for us to have a whole bunch of people come in and out. Check here for updates.

Low trails. Loose frozen granular. Check when you get here to see exactly what is open.

The photos above are from this morning. The frozen surface is grinding up nicely. It will be very skiable, and also pretty darn fast.

Ian was on the Woodcock, Snow Goose, and Turkey with the snow cat before it blew a hydraulic hose. Now comes fix it time, and then more grooming.

Everyday brings it’s own adventure.

Closed for a rainy spell. Hopefully open again on Friday.

Closed today and Thursday. We are hoping to be open again on Friday and for the weekend.

With today’s rain and 36 hours of warm weather then going down to 19º on Thursday night, we will be able to groom Friday morning. BUT, the skiing will be a loose frozen granular, fast and sporty. By Friday expect the low trails only. The upper trails will need more snow to get them open.

A little about green, blue, and black trail designations. Every single ski area looks at their own terrain and decides the designation of Green, Blue and Black all relative to that area specifically. Always start at a new ski area, or after the snow changes on a green trail. Get a feel for the snow that day and the areas terrain. A green trail on a powder day could be a black trail on a frozen granular day.

Closed for warm rainy weather
