Open, 13º at 7am. Clear, quarter moon sky. The stars are twinkling, and the planet sitting above the moon is bright. Clear, early morning skies are so quiet.

Good, fast, but very skiable snow. If any tracks went in they are not real deep. Skiing today on the Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey, Grouse and Peregrine. Please note, we have a high school ski race this afternoon. The Peregrine will be busy in the afternoon. Turkey and Grouse, race starting at 4pm.

Ian is out there grinding up the snow again! Around and around, we still have full coverage, thanks to all the shoveling Ian and crew have done. AND, the skiing is good. Fast, but good. The shovelers have shoveled so much! And another trip skiing around picking up sticks. We are wishing everyone a healthy and happy New Year.  We are also wishing for all precipitation to fall as snow. That is our winter wish!

Closed Today

Closed, 41º and raining at 7:30am. The forecast for today: rain tapering off, with the temperature dropping all day. We got about an inch of frozen precipitation, which has settled to about a half inch. The low temperature tonight is 8º.

Waiting for your turn on the jump 12/31/18.

The plan is to be open again tomorrow morning.  We will grind up the snow in the morning and have something. Probably no tracks – theres not much snow on top of the very solid base.

There is a high school ski race here January 2, Wednesday, in the afternoon. It is quite festive and fun to see. You are welcome to go out and ski around them.

At the starting line. January 2018.

Good skiing, again! Good, fast, and very skiable, slowing down as the temperature reaches 32º. The Stratton Mountain School Nordic team skied here yesterday morning. The skiing on the Peregrine was so fabulous many of the SMS skiers stayed after practice to ski more Peregrine laps.

Another great ski! 12/30/2018 Photo credit George Forbes.

The Woodcock and Snow Goose skied really well also. Many skiers came in to tell me about their experience. All happy with the skiing. Happy to be skiing. Happy we had snow. Happy to be outside. And happy with our description of the skiing. Which is sugary snow on a hard base. Very skiable, but fast. Most people love it. Please ski with in your ability. And if you are new to this whole thing, you can always snow shoe.

Sunrise early 12/31/2018. Up the road, the snow blew off this hill, all of the ski trails are covered!!!

Grouse on the Grouse. 12/30/18 the snow is grinding up nicely.

Ian started this morning at 4am in the Ranger pulling the Ginzu. Chuck went out at 6am on the snow mobile pulling the powder maker. AND they have ground up the snow given us a loose frozen granular base.

Meeting of the groomers, planning the next step, 12/30/18.

Good/Ok/Great skiing depending on your perspective and your ability. The snow is very skiable. That being said it is faster.

One way to move snow, 12/29/18.

The snow farmers went out yesterday afternoon. 12 shovelers moving the snow to fill in low spots or really frozen spots. Ian said it worked great and the coverage is good out there.

And they shoveled………
