An inch of fluffy, powdery snow. Great skiing.

Open at 9 am. The current temperature is 5º. We had 1 inch of snow last night. The sky is clear, it is a beautiful morning. The forecast high is 13º with sun and clouds.

The photos above are from this morning. The first looking west. The middle looking north. The third looking east.

Ian groomed the Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, and Peregrine with the snow cat. The track looks great and the skate lane should be fairly firm, because of the cold temperature.

Jonathan went up above on the Chickadee, Loon, and Upper Blue Jay. The Chickadee and Upper Blue Jay are groomed with a track in where it would go in. The Loon is groomed, no track, Jonathan said not too bad, except where he made a mess and buried a machine. He said we could ski around it.

Tips for dressing to be warm in cold weather;

Layers. Dry socks when you get here right before you ski. No cotton. Wear a neck warmer. Hood. Mittens, not gloves. Hand warmers before you get too cold. A dry shirt to wear home, I promise, it is worth changing.

Two inches of new snow, a snow-globe day, with great skiing.

Open at 9 am. The current temperature is 30º. The temperature will drop during the day, with snow starting around 3 pm.

The photos above are all from this morning. Ian is in the snow cat on the lower trails. And Jonathan on the snow machine on Chickadee and Loon (Loon remains closed but we’re getting closer!)

The low trails are groomed for skate and classic, the skate lane is soft. The skiing will be great! The upper trails are packed, Chickadee tracked), and perfect for a pleasant back country experience, not wide enough for skating. As of this morning the snow on the ground is soft from yesterday’s snow. That was the wettest snow we’ve seen in a month. On wax-less skis you will need Maxiglide to keep the new wet snow from sticking to the base of your ski. Ask if you have any questions.

“Kindness is like snow- It beautifies everything it covers.”

― Kahil Gibran,

Great skiing, a little warmer. The skiing will change with the temperature.

Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6:30 am is 21º, clear now, snow later in the day. Photos below are from this morning. Yep it is that good!

10 km looks like the the photos above. Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, and Peregrine.

Chickadee and Upper Blue Jay are groomed flat, no track, they are more narrow, no skating, most folks love the skiing up there! And a few don’t.

After the kids left, about 100 kids, Ian and Audrey took their little one out for a groom.

A half inch of snow overnight.

Open, 9º at 7 am. Forecast high 29º. Clear early, clouding up later.

A half inch of new snow late yesterday. Ian groomed the Peregrine, Grouse and Turkey. Woodcock and Snow Goose will be a little bit powdery. The low trail system is 10 km all with a good skate lane and nice tracks.

Chickadee and Upper Blue Jay have decent coverage on most of the trail. And a few thin spots where the natural topograph of the land is apparent. There are a few slick spots under the new snow a few people have noticed. Until we get more snow if you aren’t a strong skier, think of these trails as an expert trail.

We have a local kids group on Friday afternoons starting at 2:45, if you can ski before that you will avoid the craziness. (Or mayhem.)

Why we ski deep into the woods. “To be quiet, even wordless, in a good place is a better gift than poetry.”
