Open at 9 am. The temperature at 6:30 am is 14º. The forecast high for the day is 18º, and today’s high is warmer than Saturdays forecast.

All trails are open. Everyone who has been waiting for the Loon and Middle and Upper Blue Jay: today is the day. Ian groomed all day yesterday and has them open and ready for more snow. There are a few “sporty” spots.

Skiing is really good. And I will say it again, today is warmer than tomorrow will be. Low trails are groomed with a track and a skate lane. Chickadee, Loon, Upper and Middle Blue Jay are all classic only.

Today’s photo is thanks to Amanda. The video is on Instagram and is stunning.

Grab your warm gear. No cotton! Notice the bold print. Dry socks once you get here. Mittens not gloves. Hoods are great they go up and down easily, and protect you from the wind. Neck gaiters. Wool is a really good layer. If you stop skiing and are going back out, put on dry mittens at the very least. When it is cold out consume enough calories. And even in the cold you will sweat. A dry shirt for the ride home feels really good.

A note about the upcoming weather.

We will be open on Saturday, it will be cold, but in Nordic skiing you can keep moving and create your own heat.

Sunday, we will make a decision Saturday night or Sunday depending on the final track of the storm.

Monday, it depends on how much snow we really get. Snow doesn’t fall ready to ski. We will get there as quickly as we can.
