The Snowman Lost His Head Over All The Rain

Closed, 23º at 6:30am. Partly cloudy. The snow has to dry out! Or we will turn it to cement. We still have snow to work with. We will be able to get open. It will be as soon as possible.

The snowman really did lose his head. We had a lot of rain. Chuck looked in the rain measuring can and his guess is, “Oh, sh*t”. It poured all Wednesday night, and Thursday morning.

Rain totals, 1.37 on Thursday morning, 2.28 this morning, (Friday) so a storm total of 3.65 inches of rain. And by the way that would have been 3 feet, or so, of snow.

We have low spots on the Woodcock and Snow Goose that are close to the brook. If the ice jams up funky there can be flooding in spots on those two trails. The top of the snow is drying out, so we know it will happen, sometimes patience is the hardest part.

A picture for your mental health!

Good Morning Star Shine, this picture is from Feb. of 2018.

One of these weekends we will venture up to see you from Binghamton NY. We have skied there in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it, not to mention the delicious brownies. 😋 Can you recommend a decent place for us to lodge in the area?

    Thank you

    1. We look forward to you coming up to ski. Here is our link to some lodging in the area. https://wildwingsski.com/lodging/ area lodging from our web site. There are many options. Seesaws Lodge is the newest and the Landgrove Inn is always fun.
