Open, 25º at 6 am.

10 km open, Turkey, Grouse, Goshawk, Snow Goose, Woodcock, and Peregrine. Very thin cover, lots of bumps and dips, expect to feel rocks, roots and other elements of the earth through the snow.

Ian packed and packed yesterday. He is going to use a different groomer today in a few spots. It will make a smoother corduroy and put a track in in a few km. Probably the fields. We are expecting a snow squall sometime today with some wind and a temperature drop. The deep corduroy grabs more blowing snow and the temperature below zero tonight will set up a pretty nice base.

So…….skating would be a technique building experience. Skiing on classic skis would be the way to go, and a wider ski would be more stable on the wide corduroy.

It is beautiful out!!! The snow is sparkly, the ice and snow mounds on the brooks are peak mid winter. Any day outside is a great day!
