Open at 9 am, The temperature at 6:45 is 2º. The forecast high is 28º. And the sun is out! All photos are from this morning.
The groomer is also out on the low trails. Fresh corduroy and the hard pack is softened up. The skiing will be the softest this morning.
The skiing is really good. It has been getting fast toward the end of the day. And now the sun is out and the temperature is going to warm up to 28º. The temperature and the sun affect the skiing. Sun slows the skiing down, but the snow in the shade will stay fast because the temperature is only 28º. Warmer springy weather brings all sorts of different issues.
The Chickadee yesterday had a 5 out 5 star review, and it had one other person a little less excited. It is a great ski. Ian and Reid skied Middle and Upper Blue Jay and said they are lovely skiing for the weekend.
The snow on the low trails groomed up nicely. If you have trouble on hard, hard pack ski early while there is some fresh snow from the fresh groom.

I finally skiied the Chicakee and it was a unique, beautiful trail…it’s a back country experience but with grooming and tracks! That’s an unusual combination.
