Skiing and Lots of Shoveling Going On Around Here

Open, 3º, clear skis, forecast high today, 18º, low tonight 3º.

The shoveling continues. Ian and Dick shoveled yesterday morning. Ian and the Burr and Burton ski team shoveled yesterday afternoon. Our snow moving equipment fleet has grown and is improving.

The Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey, and Grouse are open with thin coverage. Packed out and smoothed out as much as 4 inches of snow allows. Ian is working on the Peregrine next.

The skiing isn’t perfect. It is thin and if you have a choice of skis, choose the old skis. Cliff said yesterday, “It is pretty good skiing for as little snow as there is.” Not perfect and not terrible.

If you are doing the solstice party tonight. Lots of layers. A head lamp. And a snow dance party attitude.

And plan on Ski Demo Day on Saturday, December 21 at 10:00 a.m. West Hill Shop will be here with skin skis for people to try. The skis have a mohair type strip on the base for grip. They work great and they are quieter than the plastic crown base skis.
