Open, 22º and snow/sleet that bounces off your jacket is falling. Forecast high 24º and more sleet and snow and possible freezing rain for the rest of the day.

Snow started late yesterday afternoon, changing to sleet overnight.

The plan (subject to change):

Ian is grooming 10 km flat today. 10 km open, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, and Peregrine.

This morning, about 9am.

And did you know this is the first “plowable” snow in February. Last plowable snow was January 31. Whew!

For the weekend: we will probably have just the lower 10km open, we will check out Chickadee and get it open if possible, but we might need to wait for more snow.

6 km loose, frozen granular base with an inch of snow on top.

Open, 24º at 7 am and sunny. The sun helps! The forecast high today is 32º, you may need Maxiglide.

One inch of snow on top of the loose, frozen granular base. 6 km, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose. Peregrine and Grouse will open as soon as possible, we need to cover some icy spots.

The skiing is ok. This is “I am happy to be outside and skiing,” skiing. Move your body and feel better type skiing.

February 22, 2023

Thursday night/Friday snow/mix forecast numbers I am seeing, 3-12 inches of snow/sleet/ice. We are on the northern edge of the mix numbers and the southern edge of snow. Sounds like we will come out with a net gain, and the skiing for the weekend should be decent.

6 km open to hardy season pass holders.

Open, 24º and cloudy. The snow is crunchy and has been shrinking daily.

The skiing today will remain fast. The temperature will not warm up enough today to soften the snow. We need fresh snow and snow isn’t going to fall until the end of the day.

The forecast for today/evening; 1 inch or 2-4 inches of snow, depending on which part of the forecast you read.

The forecast for Wednesday night 8-12 inches and a little more snow on Thursday night. And winter on Friday, a fine blustery, snowy day.

Ian updated the sign this morning. Woodcock sign reads, “Thin but OK”, and Snow Goose reads, “Sporty”.

Skiing on 7 km, loose frozen granular snow.

Open, 27º at 7 am. Forecast high 42º and partly cloudy.

7 km open, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey and Grouse.

Loose frozen granular on a hard base. The skiing in mostly ok, and thin in spots.

Onto the dream world about the upcoming snow forecast. Yes, we are dreaming, dreaming of lots of snow, all trails can be open and we are skiing on a fluffy surface of lots and lots of powdery snow. And with that said we’ll be happy to have an inch of snow on Tuesday.

This is what we are dreaming about:
