Open, 33º at 7 am. Forecast for today. Cloudy and drizzly. Snow/rain off and on for today. The skiing will be fine. Corn snow. All trails open.

This picture was taken last February. The weather was about the same as today.  The skiing was good then and the skiing is good today. And the smile says it all. Good ski days, are good ski days. And almost all ski days make us smile.

The forecast is a little tricky, again. I am going with the National Weather Service Advisory. Between 10 pm tonight and 10 am Thursday, we expect 2 to 6 inches of snow. And wind gusting as high as 45 mph.

I will let you know Thursday morning what happened and if there is too much wind we may have to be closed Thursday to clean up.

Corn Snow Skiing

And around we go. 3/12/2019

Open, 33º at 6:30 am and cloudy. Forecast high 43º and clouds and maybe some rain.

The snow is a nice corn snow and the skiing is fine. Quick, but good.  Corn snow is fun to ski on.

Grab a water proof jacket just in case, and come out for a ski.

All trails open, 25 km. Woodcock and Snow Goose will be good.

There is some weather coming in, snow and/or rain, we are close to the line and it keeps changing. Hopefully we will come out with a net gain.

Another Great Spring Ski Day

Open, 23º at 6:30 am and clear skies. Forecast high 45º and sunny. Another great spring ski day. Fast in the morning and slow mid-day and fast again once the sun goes over the trees. (About 2:30-3:00). All trails open and the skiing will be  good spring skiing!

We are not grooming this morning, so please wait until about 10:30-11:00 for the snow to soften. Spring skiing is fast in the morning! Slow from about 10:30 to 3:00. And fast again after the sun goes down.

Spring skiing is great, really nice and wonderful when you hit it right. A quote from 2 of Sunday’s skiers, they wrote in the comments section of Sunday’s ski news. “Dear Tracy, Chuck and Ian, THANK YOU for a fabulous day of classical skiing. The tracks were exceptionally good and the downhill coming back to the center on Chickadee was as smooth as a carpet. You folks deliver an exceptional experience. We are very grateful to be enjoying Wild Wings. Best, Sue and Larry”

They were done skiing by 3:00 pm. The last people down (4 ish) found the downhill pretty darn quick.

A Great Spring Ski Day

ra-5a4bd91746f71523

Open, 24º at 6:30 am and clear skies. Expected high 43º and sunny. All trails open. I heard the Loon and Waite’s Place Loop were really great yesterday. The Upper and Middle Blue Jay were fast yesterday, but the warmer temperatures today will slow them down.

The photo is the track from yesterday. The skiing yesterday was as good as it gets. Today is still fabulous. Ian is grooming the Woodcock, Snow Goose and Turkey today with the Snow Cat, the skiing is really, really good!

The skiing Monday  and Tuesday will be spring skiing. With weather coming in Wednesday/Thursday. Looks like mixed precipitation, we are hoping for a net gain of snow. Whatever it brings Ian will groom it out for the best skiing we can get you.
