Well, that was a dud.

Closed, 12º, blue sky and bright sun.

The photo above shows what we are trying to still trying to cover up. We had freezing rain yesterday, not too much. The trees didn’t even ice up. But between the ice and the warm temperatures the snow settled again. This was not a net gain event.

At the stake today we have 4 inches. The most we’ve had at the stake this year was 6 inches.

Feels like a game that we are not winning.

Not yet, but feeling hopeful!

Closed, 11º at 10:00am, blue skies and sunny.

2 inches of a very hard base. (In a couple spots, less than 2 inches.)

3 inches of new snow in the last 48 hours.

The 4 STOP signs went up on the Woodcock road crossings today. Hopefully, no more foot prints.

Tomorrow’s forecast…………We are hoping to come out with a net gain. We are really hoping for some sleet and then some snow on top of that.

And really if we get to wish for what we want. We want no more rain, no more warm weather until April. We want cold temperatures and snow. And that is what we are wishing for.

There is a lot of hoping and wishing going on right now!

Not enough snow, yet.

Closed, 22º and light snow falling. About 2 inches of snow between yesterday morning and today’s snow fall. The snow is pretty, and it almost looks like enough. But the “base” snow layer underneath is very, very hard. And we still need more snow. Darn it!

I chose this photo so you could see the amount of new snow on the bird feeders. This is a “where’s Waldo” photo, there is a chickadee on the sunflower seed feeder, and a downy woodpecker on the suet feeder.

We are finding a few things to keep us busy, but we’d rather be skiing/working! We miss you all. Please, up your snow dance game!

It is a little (LOT) shiny out there. We just need snow!

Closed, 28º and freezing drizzle.

We had about 4 inches of snow on the ground when this round of precipitation started. The precipitation fell as freezing rain/drizzle. So, as of 8am this morning freezing rain/drizzle have been falling for about 36 hours. The trees are ice coated. The snow is ice crusted. The driveway is skateable. The plow/sand guys have worked overtime to try to keep the roads and driving safe.

The forecast is NOT for, “Snow on the way soon.” But there are no big warm ups either. There are a few days with an inch of snow in the forecast. But this Christmas storm had some snowflakes in it too, and there hasn’t been a flake in the last day.

We need snow, 4 inches would be great! 12 inches would be a game changer. Let’s go snow!
