We will be skiing tomorrow! 4 to 6 inches of new snow.

Open on Sunday for skiing. The temperature at 6:30pm was 11º. The low overnight around 9º with a little more snow. The high Sunday around 26º and partly sunny.

The photos are all from today taken midday.

Spring skiing, low trails, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine. The skiing will be pretty good.

And on Saturday, we started to boil some maple syrup. The sap had a sugar content of 2.6, and it is light and fancy. We will have some down at the barn tomorrow if you are looking for some golden, light, delicious syrup.

The groomer is boiling sap.

Eight hours of boiling, sweetening the pans. The first boil takes a really long time. End result from 400 gallons of sap-3.5 gallons of syrup. Next time the ratio will be more in our favor.

Waiting for the snow…………

Closed, waiting on the forecast snow. 32º at 7 am and cloudy.

The forecast is for 6 to 10 inches of snow, the temperature dropping during the day, and wind.

If we get enough snow we will be open Sunday. The low Saturday night is 9ª, and the high Sunday 26º. Maybe we will be able to ski Monday too.

The 6 inches of snow on Thursday (see photo above, that was the new snow) shrunk and melted that day. We know this new snow won’t last long. Ski it while you can.

I took the photo above on Thursday. It is the spot where Ian, in the Snow Cat, slide off the trail and part way over the bank. That is how thick and solid the ice under the new snow was/is. Ian was able to back up and get himself out. He then drove up the driveway to the snow cat shed. I wasn’t paying attention to the fact that he slid off, I missed that photo op.

Closed today, waiting for snow.

Closed, 21º and sunny. Forecast high 43º, starting out sunny, becoming cloudy later in the day.

The forecast right now is for rain overnight and into Saturday morning, turning into snow and snow Saturday. We are in the 5 to12 inches of snow, depending on which part of the forecast you look at. It will depend on how fast the cold weather slides south. The wind is suppose to blow, a lot!

The photo above and directly below are what the snow looks like this morning. The last one is from yesterday, Thursday, the one day wonder. Sorry if you couldn’t make it.

Below is from Thursday morning, March 10, 2022

We were open Thursday. Now closed again. Waiting for snow.

Updated Thursday at 6pm. We will be closed and needing more snow. Maybe Sunday?

Open, 21º, blue sky. 6.4 inches of snow. The forecast high is 41º. Variable spring skiing, some thin spots becoming bare spots as it warms up. Ski it while you can.

Ian packed last night and then took the Snow Cat out this morning. 12 km, lower trails, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey, Grouse, Goshawk and Peregrine. He will let me know about the other trails later.

All photos are from this morning and last night. Except the last which is from Monday, March 7th. Just for comparison.

This last photo is from Monday morning, March 7. Looking pretty bleak. I guess we just never know.
