Closed, 36º and raining at 7 am. It did snow 3 inches before switching to rain. The snow is heavy, wet, and yucky.

Closed today and tomorrow, Saturday. By late Saturday we should be able to figure out a tentative plan for the next few days.

The photo above is of some of the action from the race on Thursday.

Another day of good skiing. Read through for details.

Open, 17º at 6:30 am and starry skies. Expected high, 32º. The skiing today is good. 20 km open, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, Peregrine, Chickadee and Upper Loop of the Blue Jay.

Today, Thursday, we are hosting a high school ski race start time 2pm If you want to avoid the race, ski in the morning. We will be selling half day passes all day. If you need to ski in the afternoon, the race will be held on the Turkey and Grouse. If you get out on any other trail you immediately are out of the crowd. Races are fun, and all participants can use some loud encouragement.

Unless the forecast for Friday is completely wrong, we will be closed Friday, for the weather event. And then we will reopen as soon as possible.

Skiing with 22 km open, good today and tomorrow.

Miles of smiles!

Open, 9º and sunny at 7:30am. Expected high today 32º and sunny. The skiing is good in most spots. But according to Ian, there are a few thin spots and some humps and bumps Ian isn’t happy with. Cliff came in and said, you’re selling it short, the skiing is so good in most places, you then forget about the parts that aren’t perfect. Cliff decided just saying Chickadee Open on the new sign wasn’t descriptive enough. He choose to change it to “dreamy”.

22 km open when we add the Chickadee and Upper Blue Jay to the low trails, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine. And Ian is on the groomer again this morning.

Skiing today and tomorrow. On Friday, unless the forecast for rain is wrong, we will be closed. We will open again as soon as we can get everything skiable again.

But for today and Thursday this is what life and skiing are on the Woodcock. Thanks to Cliff for the photo, and Tim for the model.

Chickadee is open. Skiing today, Wednesday and Thursday will be good.

Open, 21º and half an inch of snow late yesterday. Ian shoveled and groomed the Chickadee yesterday. And it is open. You have 3 days to get out there. About 19km open for the next 3 days. Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk Peregrine, AND Chickadee AND Upper Blue Jay. What a day!

Ian is on the snow mobile right now putting in some new tracks and smoothing trails. The Chickadee should be good, with a few rough spots. He drove the snow machine on Loon, and pulled a groomer. He said Loon is rough and bumpy.

Into the future……Today, good. Wednesday, good. Thursday, good-with a high school ski race in the afternoon. So either ski early or know there will be kids here. The race will be on the Turkey and Grouse, so it is easy to get out and away from the hub bub and ski by yourself. Friday, closed, unless something magical happens with the weather. After Friday, we have to wait and see. We will be open again as quickly as we can get there.
