Open for some pretty good skiing, low trails 10 km.

Open, 10º and partly sunny. Expected high 20º.

10 km open. Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, and Peregrine.

The trails firmed up and dried out nicely. And Ian has been shoveling like crazy. The skiing is way better than we expected. Perfect? No. But better than decent. There are no tracks set.

We are still glued to the weather forecast. The forecast for the end of the week looks warm and maybe rainy. So ski it while you can.

Open, very limited skiing.

Open, 4º at 7:30am and cloudy. Forecast high 17º and cloudy.

Turkey, Grous, and Peregrine are open. Turkey is ok. Peregrine is pretty good. Grouse is good. Where there is snow the skiing is pretty good. Woodcock will be worked on next but will require quite a bit of shoveling, so no promises. The fields are also both still covered. Ian was not able to set tracks. So no tracks until we get new snow. (like quite a bit of new snow.)

If you come with low expectations, you may be pleasantly surprised. If you look at the end of the week forecast, you know this is as good as it is going to get for a while.

Shoveling on the Turkey on Saturday.

On the Snow Goose.

On the Grouse.

A plan for Sunday

ra-5a4bd91746f71523

We will be open on Sunday at 10 am. Please don’t come before then.

I rode with Ian around the low trails, we picked up sticks, Ian shoveled snow, and he broke up ice dams.

Lots of the skiing will be ok. There are spots that are still slushy, there are spots that are melted out and need more shoveling time than we had today.

THE PLAN: Open Turkey and Peregrine. If we can get the Woodcock shoveled it would open next. But no promises. There is not enough snow to set a track. If you get here with low expectations, you might be pleasantly surprised. If skiing the Turkey and Peregrine sounds just like what you need, come on out.

Closed today to check it all out.

Closed today. 0º and windy. 2 inches of snow overnight. Overcast skies at 7 am with a high today of 8º. We did not lose all our snow. We will be able to get some skiing going. But today we need to let the brook go down. Pick up the sticks, unplug the culverts, let the water drain out of the low spots and just generally get everything back where it should be. I’ll update here as soon possible.

Yesterdays weather: 3.5 inches of snow before the rain. Then about 2 inches of rain. High temperature of 46º. Followed by another 2 inches of snow and the temperature dropping to 0º. A 46º drop in less than 12 hours. And the wind did blow.
