A springy, December day.

Open, 37º and mostly cloudy at 7 am. 10 km open, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Peregrine. Expect spring conditions. The snow will be soft, but also granular. Bare spots will start to show up. Sometimes a little fast, sometimes a little slow, or even extremely slow. The snow is inconsistent.

We have now been open 12 days. Today the temperature is going to be close to 50º (don’t over dress).

For Saturday there is rain in the forecast, just not sure on the timing. It might not make a difference, we have too little snow even if it doesn’t rain. So make sure to check here to see if we are open on Saturday.

The photo above is the end of the day Thursday. Ian headed home, he started grooming at 5 am, and helped me close up at the end of a long day. Thanks, Ian!

And today 10 km of spring skiing!

Open, 24º at 7 am. Mostly sunny skies. The forecast for Thursday, high temperature, 44º and partly sunny. The skiing is still pretty darn good. We still have 10 km, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, and Peregrine. Ian is on the groomer freshening it up.

The skiing is getting a little springy (think season). Softer and slower in the middle of the day.

The plan for now, open on Thursday, Friday, and hopefully Saturday. Only time will tell about Saturday.

10 km good skiing. Groomer is grooming!

Open, 17º at 7 am. Cloudy skies. I was hoping for a flake or two of new snow, but the lake effect snow has gone north of us.

10 open, and grateful to have it! Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse and Peregrine. Not enough snow depth to get a track in. The skiing is good.

There has been some nice light happening at the end of the days. The photo below is thanks to Heidi. She skied many k’s at the end of the day Tuesday, and had a great sunset show.

Another day of good skiing, is another good day.

Open, and happy to be open!!!!! 15º this morning, cloudy and a few flakes falling. It is a great day for a ski.

About 12 km of skiing, Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Peregrine. Good skiing. No track set.

The reason for no track; there is not enough snow depth to use the Pisten Bully (snow cat), to groom. It is the Pisten Bully in hard snow that allows Ian to groom deep down and the put a track in. And we are skiing on a minimal base.

We are grateful to have enough base to have any skiing. And the skiing is good. So yep, we are so happy to be here!

I have looked at the weather forecast and the skiing will be good today, Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday. Then we are back to a wait and see what happens next scenario.

Another shot from yesterday.
