New snow (sleet) overnight, more than a dusting, not a 1/2 inch.

In the field, February 8, 2023.

Open, 32º and overcast skies. Forecast high 36º and some sun. A 1/2 inch or so of new snow (sleet)

All trails open.

The low trails were last groomed Monday night. We groom when we can make the skiing better. This new snow on top of yesterdays tracks is nice skiing. If the sun comes out you might need Maxiglide.

Chickadee and Middle and Upper Blue Jay were groomed Sunday night. They were fast yesterday morning, but slowed down and were good skiing in the afternoon when the temperature and sun softened the snow.

And this is just a nice photo from yesterday.

Skiing on February 7, 2023.

Ian says, “mostly pretty good.”

Open, 8º and sunny. Expected high today 32º. A full moon groom the last two nights.

Last night’s re-groom: Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Goshawk, Peregrine. The skiing on the low trails is quite lovely. The top ground up last night, a sugary top layer on a hard pack base.

Chickadee was groomed Sunday night. It will be harder and fast. A few thin spots and rocks poking through. It might be more difficult than you’d like; it’s the sort of day you have to evaluate how it feels and make your own choices.

Upper and Middle Blue Jay and Loon were groomed a couple days ago, also hard and fast, watch out for beech leaves and twigs, and thin spots and rocks.

If we get new snow tonight, the skiing tomorrow and early on Thursday should be ok. Friday is more of an unknown, but don’t be surprised if we’re closed (Thursday night looks quite rainy)

Fresh grooming, good hard pack skiing.

Open, 30º and cloudy. Hard pack (a firm, granular powder mix), fresh grooming again last night. On the grooming list: Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse and Chickadee. The snow is a little fast, not surprising given the rain:snow ratio we’ve had this year.

Another really good day. Forecast high 36º, which softens up the snow and slows the skiing down a little.

We are loving the Pisten Bully this year. It has worked hard and worked well. The tiller on the back does a really good job on this hard pack snow.

Whew, a warmer day and good skiing.

Open, 7º and partly cloudy. Forecast high 38. A heat wave!

Pisten Bully out and about last night. Instead of kicking the tires, groomers kick the snow. Trying to see which adjustments need to be made.

All trails open, good skiing on a hard pack surface. Ian re-groomed the low trails last night with the Pisten Bully. Low trails, Turkey, Woodcock and Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk will be lovely skiing! Hard pack, skate lane groomed, nice track.

Chickadee and Loon are really good. Cliff reports Upper Blue Jay was wonderful skiing.

Out for a ski on Chickadee.

Here comes the sun…….here’s to another great day.
