Open, all trails. At 6:30 am, about an inch of snow overnight. And to start the day it is 16º and sunny. Forecast 29º and snow after 10 pm tonight.

The skiing today is phenomenal! Firm skate lane. Buttery tracks and this morning blue sky. Middle and Upper Bluejay were not groomed last night, they are a little more powdery.

Do whatever you need to do to get out skiing today, it’s so good!

This is what the skiing looks like this morning under the inch of new snow:

This is what is looked like last night after Ian groomed:

And a before photo on the Chickadee from Jonathan:

And now about the storm for tonight and tomorrow. We are in the forecast range of 2 to 6 inches or 4 to 9 inches of snow. Guess where you want, we will wake up in the morning, say a prayer of thanks for snowflakes and get ready to ski.

A powdery ski today. We haven’t said that many times this season.

Open, 11º and 2 inches of new snow at 6:45 am and cloudy. Snow is forecast for this afternoon with a temperature of 30º.

All trails are open. The grooming is holding up nicely. A great hard pack base. A nice, firm skate lane and a really sturdy solid track. And then 2 inches of new light, powdery, sparkly snow on top.

A few shots from yesterday. Today’s skiing will be about the same as yesterday. But with the warming up and new snow, you may need Maxi Glide. Ask when you get here if you don’t know what it is. Bring it with you if you have it!

Yesterday this hardy group skied the entire trail system. Ian and Rob, three 10 year olds and a 15 year old. 6 people, a dozen cookies, bowls of chili, a gallon of water, some donuts and 25 km. Four hours, and that includes breaks for food and water and they were still smiling! They were tired. I heard tired legs and sore feet. And the two pizzas at the finish were devoured!

We have been waiting all year for the skiing to be this good!

Open, 0º at 6:30 am. Forecast high16º, sunny this morning, maybe some snow flakes this afternoon.

All trails are open. And yep, the skiing is this good. I need an arrow to point below.

We have been waiting impatiently for snow, it is here. Get out and enjoy it! This is a great weekend to ski the Chickadee/Loon! Don’t wait, jump on the chance!

We all own the warm clothes, they are just at the bottom of the pile.

Mittens, not gloves! Hand and toe warmers if you know you have cold hands or feet. Hoods are nice. Neck gaiters. No cotton. Get out and ski, you make your own heat, so a dry shirt to wear home is really nice.

Open, 24º, cloudy, some wind, and another inch of snow. About 5.5 inches of snow, storm total. Really nice packed powder skiing. The track is solid and the skating lane is firm.

25 km, all trails are open. Woodcock, Snow Goose, Turkey, Grouse, Goshawk, Peregrine, Upper and Middle Blue Jay, and Chickadee and Loon.

Can’t wait to ski on this! First tracks anyone?
