A great day for a ski!

Open, 21º at 6:30 am and sunny. This is a lovely morning! Forecast high 36º becoming cloudy. Snow tonight.

All trails are open. The Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, and Peregrine all groomed to a really nice loose granular with powder mixed in. It is a great surface. Not too fast, not too slow. Very skiable. This photo is this morning on the Peregrine. Ian had a great morning in the groomer. Jonathan made a couple of laps on Chickadee with the little Ginzu groomer, it will be really nice up there today too!

sorry about the footprints, they are mine and Ian already groomed them out!

Loon, and Middle and Upper Blue Jay were not groomed this morning, they will be better skied after the snow softens, which happens with sun and/or the temperature getting to about 34º.

The up coming forecast; 7 to 14 inches seems as good a guess as any. Snow continuing on Saturday the temperature about 31º, the skiing will be wonderful! Sunday looks lovely with a high of 35º. Two things to throw in your pack for the weekend, clear eye protection for the snow falling on Saturday, and Maxi Glide. Needing Maxi Glide is a good thing, it means we have fresh snow.

Still good skiing. All trails open.

Open, 30º at 7 am and drizzly. The drizzle should be done by about 9am, then cloudy with a high of 39º.

All trails are open. We had 2 more inches of snow yesterday afternoon. And we will have wet spring skiing today. The weather outside first thing this morning is a little gross. But once this quits and the temperature warms up a little the skiing will be fine. Bring along your Maxi Glide just in case.

This photo is from Wednesday afternoon during the snow.

Six inches of snow fell off the barn roof yesterday. So the snow cat came out to play last night.

Newly groomed, new snow, new best ski day.

Open, 20º another 1.8 inches of snow yesterday. About 3.5” total for the storm. Forecast today, some sun early, snow possible this afternoon with a high temperature of 37º.

Details about skiing: all of the trails groomed last night: Turkey, Woodcock Snow Goose, Grouse, Goshawk, Peregrine, Chickadee, and the Blue Jays!

Looking good today!

We might have had another dud of a snowstorm, but with all the duds added together, we’re actually building a decent base! It would have been nice to have this much snow in the middle of January, rather than beginning of March, but we’ll just have to enjoy it now…

Powdery Chickadee 2/28

Tomorrow (Thursday) the weather doesn’t look all that great – a little warmer with chance for rain. We will stay open but will not do any grooming until it freezes again Thursday night / Friday early morning.

Snowy nights

This morning 1.5 inches of new snow, and snowing.

Open, 20º and snowing. It did snow off and on all night and at 6:30 this morning we had 1.5 inches of new snow. More snow expected today

All trails are open and the skiing is great!

A photo from Peregrine yesterday:

This photo is from yesterday and was taken on Blue Jay. This is what skiing on packed, groomed trails with a few inches of new snow is like.

This is how skiers felt about the skiing yesterday;

And with fresh snow, headed toward spring the animals are moving around. Jud has seen bobcat tracks, from a bobcat couple, moving around and yesterday this photo was taken by Wyatt;

There has been a suggestion to have a celebratory board of skiers who have done the entire 25 km in a day. I am starting to get a board and space ready. We need a title for the board. Anyone? And then you would need to pick your best day to make it happen. It can only happen when all trails are open. It is easier when the snow if lovely, like right now.
