Fantastic Skiing, this is as good as it gets.

This sign is old. Current snow today is 10 to 15″. New snow on Wednesday morning was 5 “.

Open, 15º and overcast. Forecast high today 19º. 17 km open to start the day.

Ian’s goal is to open Upper and Middle Blue Jay by this afternoon. He’s starting the day with Turkey, Grouse, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Peregrine and Chickadee.

The skiing is fantastic. Soft packed powder, nice tracks and great skate lane. Writing reports during skiing like this is so easy and so boring and I love it.

I love true winter, and winter is what is going on out there right now. Take advantage of it! From looking at the forecast, this great skiing will last, like this, through next Tuesday and then it will just get a little “eastern” on us. You know that saying “things are about to get western.”

I just have to share. I was driving home at 8:30 last night and the rink in the middle of town was lit up and about 20 people were playing hockey. And then I get home and the neighbors have a mini terrain park going with bright lights. Teenagers out there riding down and hiking up. Outside is where it is at!

Seventeen km open, really good skiing.

Open, 9º at 7 am, partly cloudy. Forecast high, 21º.

17 km open. Turkey, Woodcock, Snow Goose, Grouse, Peregrine, and Chickadee. For only 6 to 10 inches of snow it’s mid-winter conditions with firm base and a packed powder surface. Really nice. Put away your rock skis and break out your good skis!

P.S. Chickadee is open.

And the Chickadee is open. I would say, “Just like that.” But really it was a lot of work.

What a day. Snow, cold and good skiing. Seventeen km. Chickadee is open.

Open, 5º at 7 am, 5 inches of new snow this morning. Forecast high 16º. Above grooming photo from this morning.

This is winter. I am not going to say it is cold, I am going to say it is winter and it isn’t raining. Cold and new snow! Fabulous!

17 km open for skiing today the Turkey, Grouse , Woodcock, Snow Goose and Peregrine. Thanks to lots of work by Ian and Jonathan, add Chickadee to the list. The skiing today will be delightful. Remember cold snow is slow snow.

Grooming picture from last night packing on the Peregrine. This is a still from a video our neighbor Tiffany got last night. Thanks for sharing Tiff!
